Great professor! Makes the subject very interesting. Open minded, leaves time for discussion, specially on controversial subjects (sex&gender&hormones&behavior) .

He just reads the slides which are just the textbook and then many test questions come out of nowhere. You'll have the same amount of knowledge always skipping class and reading the textbook.

Witty and funny but some chapters of psych 100 get boring and and the course is too broad, if Jay the TA gives a lecture, make sure to be there, it's gonna be epic.

Comment:
A difficult course to teach due to the broad scope, so all of the material feels sort of superficial and rushed. Pruessner is good but not great and would probably be much more interesting teaching the specific area he is most passionate about.

Prof. explains material really clearly. Exams questions are often ambiguous so it's hard to have a good grade because of this. Group project is horrible. If you don't like working with other ppl, avoid!

Deathly boring class. subjects covered are so dry and boring and almost impossible to understand! He goes off on tangents and the slides and lectures are incoherent. His sentences often do not make sense. I hate this university. Thank the heavens I am graduating. Do yourself a favor and do not take if you dont want to spend a whole day on one lec

Overall, Dr. Pruessner is solid - clear, very knowledgeable, funny. My only complaint is that exams were stupid - not hard, just stupid. The questions are easy, and tend to be direct factsquotes from readings. But that's also the problem - he often asks for irrelevant, random, and meaninglessly specific details, instead of testing actual concepts.

Dr. Pruessner is a pretty good lecture - explains things thoroughly and has a funny (albeit dry) sense of humour. Quite a bit of reading, but exams were fair. This is a good class if you've taken a lot of other lifesci classes before - half of the course is covered in PHGY 210.

I love Dr. Pruessner. He asks difficult questions and expects students to think creatively and practically. I appreciate his approach to questioning biological systems: why does something work this way when when it could be engineered otherwise... why have we evolved to be the way we are. Definitely a proff worth following. +funny +amiable

This class made me decide to major in psychology. I found Prof. Pruessner's lectures very easy to follow and the textbook for this course is AMAZING! There's a take home project (2 page experiment design) (30%), a midterm (30%), and a final (40%). I had to guess some questions on the the take home and final, but still my easiest course at McGill!

He is really really really nice. He is always there for you. His lectures are straight off from the textbook but he shows videos and involves the whole class during his lectures. YOU MUST BE READY TO READ!!! He asks you quite hard questions on the exam! But some of the answers provided on the exam (as it is multiple choice) are quite funny :D

Really enjoyed this class, super interesting. You don't actually need to go because he just reads off the slides, but overall good guy. Material not too challenging especially if you enjoy the subject.

It's pretty easy to ace the take home midterm. You've got to study a lot for the other midterm as well as for the final. It's a lot of chapters to read through but the content is extremely interesting. Furthermore, the prof makes the class really fun and always keeps the students engaged. Must take.

The material is interesting, but the 1 to 1 relationship between lectures and text was a bore. Do not expect email responses from him, but he is generous with his time answering questions after class. The midterm was too easy, the written assignment expectations were not clear and the final included many vague and subjective questions.

Professor Pruessner manages to keep 600 students awake by being involved in the material he teaches, showing small videos to illustrate psychology concepts, and a good sense of humor. The midterm was really easy, but the assignment and the final were much harder.

This professor is amazing! He is super nice. At first his lectures may seem a lil boring, but soon you'll understand you were wrong! I attended all his lectures because he makes everything easy for you to understand especially by showing some short clips. Midterm was easy(A), take home assignment not so easy, final was more difficult but fair.

Took this class as an elective and I didn't regret it at all. He made me want to take Psyc as a minor. His lectures and the textbook are pretty much the same, but his slides gives you additional information. Lot of content. He's really funny also. Definitely recommend this class.
