Books that Matter was such a great class mainly for him. The other professor was condescending and scared people from talking, but Dr. Russo always encouraged people. He is so kind and he helps you in every way he can. 10/10 prof tbh

Such an adorable man! Lectures can be boring, but he always ties in artwork with the stories at the end, which was really interesting. A really smart guy that knows and is passionate about what he teaches. If you do the reading you'll do great!

He is practically a total stranger to me. His class size necessitates it being a lecture course, and yet the superior quality of the single book he assigns is so overwhelming and immersive, the lectures are obsolete. I literally attended less than 6 classes in the entire semester, and still passed with a B+. Few test questions come from lecture

You can really tell he knows his stuff, but I think you can tell that 101 class isn't his passion and doesn't bring out his teaching potential. Sometimes he seems to ramble and go off in random directions. The test questions never seem to be from his lectures..maybe somewhere random in the text? Always study the guides he gives though.

Professor Russo is the most adorable old man in the world. Although the class is lecture, I would advise everyone to try talking to him for a few minutes after class. He is thoughtful and caring and GENUINELY cares what students have to say. He makes you feel intelligent and can have great discussions with you!

I didn't get to know Russo well, but I found his lectures boring and hard to take notes off of. He really knows his stuff but sometimes it sounds like he's rambling so you don't really know what is important. Class was pretty easy though if you paid attention and did all the readings..

Great Professor. Always willing to help in any way he can. The reading can be very intense sometimes but just stay reading throughout the semester. Dont leave it until the weekend before the midterms and you'll be fine. Easy A.

One of the precious few professors that make the material come alive and inspire you to go beyond the minimum requirement. INCREDIBLY helpful, always listens, and brilliant. If I could I'd take his class again just for Fu@#ing fun.
