Such a nice lady who genuinely cares about her students and loves the content of the class. She is a tough grader but will usually give you chances to redo some aspects of an exam or essay if you speak to her out of class. If you go to office hours, she will help you with anything. Definitely pay attention in class, strict mandatory attendance.

Professor Freeman is a very nice lady, but if you aren't super into literature you will find this class SO boring. Your grade is based upon a few discussion posts, three papers, a midterm, and a final. She is very specific about the writing style she likes, and unfortunately, mine was not one of those, required a lot of extra effort.

Dr. Freeman is an amazing scholar, she really knows what she is talking about. She grades very harshly and you must follow her paper guidelines otherwise don't expect and A. Although she is hard she is very helpful, if you take her advice and visit her office I guarantee you will leave her class a better writer!

She's sweet in person but a tough and picky grader. I love taking English classes but this was one of my least favorites... the discussions are painful to stir up, which makes it difficult to get excited about the reading. If you can find another 400-level, do it.

English American Women's Literature. Sweetest woman. Class is kind of slow moving, but the discussion is always great. She is a wonderful teacher and person.

She's a very sweet lady and really does try to interest her students, though the material is really boring. Readings are extensive but not really necessary. Exams are very easy and papers are easy for a 400-level. Take it if you don't have a ton of options but it's not fabulous.

Only take this class if women's lit. interests you. Otherwise, most of the readings up until 3/4 through the semester will bore you. Prof. Freeman is knowledgeable and helpful, but sometimes boring.

I would only reccommmend taking this class if you absolutly love literature and writing. Shes pretty nice and smart, and if try to support every single thing you say in your papers thats all she really cares about. a ton of reading though, too much...i had to use sparknotes most of the time

Comment:
Although Dr. Freeman is a good scholar, her lectures are superficial. While she encourages original thought and discourages students from consulting critical works on the subject, she fails to provide the student with supplementary info. Ultimately she does the students a disservice, specifically failing to prepare them for the GRE.

Very intelligent and knowledgeable, especially about Blake. Always trying to get students to interact and share ideas. Kind of shy but helpful when you approach her. Gives great feedback and pushes your boundaries.

Ms. Freeman encourages her students to think for themselves, not just regurgitate critical views. She is a champion of original thought.
