This professor cares about her students and will spend time with you to understand something and interacts with the class alot but her syllabus is insane, with wrong page #'s and sometimes, her 'activity' isnt even in the book! Very nice tho, i was gone from class for a week, missed the take home test and she still let me take it. very understandin

Comment:

Frau Frisk isn't the greatest language instructor, but she genuinely cares about her students and really goes the extra mile to help them with anything they need. If you're having problems with anything, just tell her and she's happy to let you redo assignments. Lecture time wasn't allocated well, and we ran out of time at the end of the quarter.

Comment:

Frau Frisk was very attentive. She was approachable and concerned with my progress. She arrived on time for class and kept regular, (even extra), office hours to help with questions and concerns regarding class. As someone who struggles with public speaking, I thought she really made an effort to make her class comfortable, inviting and engaging!

Comment:

The syllabus is terrifying. Her study guide of the final wasn't entirely accurate. She jumps around a lot. Overall not a bad teacher, but you have to put in a lot of effort outside of class, which is to be expected of a language class. Tutoring at the ARC was extremely helpful.

Comment:

Her syllabus is absolutely ridiculous and full of assignments that don't exist, but that doesn't seem to really matter because she teaches the language so well. She is always willing to help and genuinely cares if each student learns the language. A good base class for German, but only if you can study on your own and be responsible.

Frau Frisk is a little scatter-brained, but because she's so nice it's hard not to like the class. She doesn't go by the book all the time, and has better outside sources. She's also not to bad when it comes to computers so class moves rather smoothly. It's definitely not a class you should take if you have a hard time learning on your own.

So far I've had German 6 with Prof. Frisk for a few weeks and I'm totally confused. We've been assigned the same exercise 3 times, and sometimes she assigns things that aren't actually there. Not to mention I'm totally lost _during_ class too. I never had this problem with Professor Campbell...try to get him instead.

She has good intentions, however it usually isn't clear about the intended assignment. She also has a weird tick where she radomly makes really weird faces. However, if you go to her office hours, she will sit with you for a very long time so you can be sure what she expects of you in the class.

Her Merrill CORE course was the worst experience of my life. Classes were a bore, we never talked about our writing or how to improve it. I wrote and revised more than I ever have and she still wasn't satisfied. She made an interetsting syllabus, not. Basically, I would never reccomend her to anyone.

This woman is horrendous. Her syllabus is a joke. She makes up the assignment and doesn't even bother to check to see if it really, in fact, exists. I have a love for German that I thought could never be quelled, until I met this woman, now I wonder if it is even worth taking with such an incompetant instructor.

She teaches the most unorganized class I have ever been subjected to. No one is ever sure what we have due and when. I just found out we have a vocabularly test coming up, which is funny, considering I didn't know we had vocabulary words. She assigns homework from the text which doesn't exist, and I have yet to get any of my work back.

Prof Frisk is a very nice teacher, who yes, at times is a little scatter-brained, and no doubt about it is unorganized, but she does teach you and is willing to talk to you about any subject and try to better your skills. You get what you put in the class...and it's not difficult for a language class

She was the worst teacher I've ever had, not only is she extremely unorganized, she is a complete scatter-brain and she is completely incoherent at all times. This was the worst experience I've had at UCSC, she was absolutely awful. Turn back while you can!!
