SO HARD. He expects you to know EVERY DETAIL from his 30 page 10pt font note packages. It's impossible to know every detail. He doesnt focus on concepts, rather focuses on your ability to memorize small irrelevant things. I would not recommend this course (although the material is interesting and it would be great it they tested on big concepts)

Dr. Kwok was absolutely hilarious and very clear on the knowledge needed in order to be well-equipped for exams. Attendance is mandatory because he does add extra points that he will potentially test on that may not be in the PLOs. Would love to take a class with him again!

His notes are detailed - he expects you to know everything, not the easiest to do but manageable if you want to do well, he makes funny jokes, kind of reads off the notes so you don't need to go all the time, he is honest about what to expect for the exam, he doesn't give trick questions just pure memorization of facts

Kwok designs the most ridiculous exam questions i've seen in my life. The guy assigns in depth booklets which are helpful for understanding the concepts, and then turns around and tests you on the most specific insignificant detail. He also includes a ton of things he mentioned in passing in lecture on exams rather than notes. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Ying Nam is a legend. He is so funny, that his jokes were powerful enough to change him from normal to electric, and boost all his ability by 1 stage. His jokes about blood are absolute legendary, the entire class of 400 people were left on the ground moaning and laughing at his supreme comical ability.

Decent Prof. Pretty Hilarious if you like his sense of humour. His notes are very informative and useful. Just know and understand his notes and you're good.

Hands out note packages for his lecture material, but he expects us to memorise every single detail in the package. It's way more in depth than other CAPS 301 profs' notes. He's an okay instructor. The accent is hard to understand at times but most of the time it's fine. Has a dry sense of humour. Get ready to memorise and keep up with the material

Although he basically reads of his notes, he also explains it really well so the material isn't that dense to know. That being said there is still a bit of memorization but at least he also cracks a joke from time to time which is cool. Also, maybe this is just me but his lectures make me feel "at home" and they're really "comfy".

The hardest and worst course i have taken so far. I just learnt how to memorize tons of stuff in short time, and yet wont be able to remember most of the small details from the notes that are commonly asked on the exam!

Comment:
Kwok's lectures consisted of him reading his note packet word for word - don't show up for class if know how to read. He seemed uninterested in his job and was somewhat rude and short to students asking for help. His tests emphasized the most minuscule details of the notes (don't bother knowing the overall concepts just memorize the small details).

Terrible professor. Reads off the slides. Only thing he taught us during lecture was HOW TO READ A GRAPH that was right on the slide. Gets frustrated when you don't know to solve a question even though he never taught us how to solve it. Very unsympathetic and in general not that great of a person. Good luck with him if you plan on taking CAPS 301.

The worst prof I have had in my entire undergrad. This course is equivalent to 4 other courses in terms of material that needs to be studied. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COURSE.

AHHH. The amount of stuff you have to memorize for his test questions gave me anxiety. He just reads his slides during lecture and expects you to remember lots of small details.

Blood+body fluids. Just memorize his notes booklet. A couple in-class examples in the first few topics that are important. The blood clotting section was freaking hard to memorize, but his exam questions on that part ended up being pretty simple, so it would have been nice if he'd better emphasized what to know there.

I tried to give him a bro-fist at the start of class because I was excited to learn about kidneyology, but he left me hanging... =( . but in all seriousness, don't expect anything from him and his weird dog.
