heise is a great teacher. she has a lot of knowledge and you can tell she loves art. everythings on powerpoint but she didn't put them on BB or print them out for students. morning classes tend to be boring. lights are out. she likes making the art a discussion though. i like that. learned things i didn't expect. new view on art.

I agree this is a boring class, with the light off and her talking nonstop for 50mins, you can fall asleep easily. It's hard to not to!! however, she's an easy grader, knows a lot & nice. If you prefer an easy A and can stand the boredom, take her

As an art history major, I had her for 4 classes and she was extremely easy. She knows what she's talking about if you pay attention. Go to class, take notes on the slides and study for the tests... it'll get you an A. She's always willing to help, I'd definitely recommend taking her.

Textbook unnecessary. Class is boring, you won't learn much. Great for putting up the hood and taking a quick nap; she is always showing slides. Tests not difficult but not easy. She is an incredibly easy grader. If you can still get an A in your high school art class you can pass this class. If you don't know what the sphinx is maybe not.

She is really nice and she makes jokes in class. This class is easy people. Come one you watch slides, you take notes, you have group projects and a collage and then a final at the end... no book needed save your money. EASY A ...IF- you review before tests and show up for class... but isnt that what you are supposed to do???

I would not recommend to take this class. Pretty nice lady but the worst class ever. Most boring lectures ever!!! All you do is sit and listen to her babble everyday about slides. With the lights off it puts you to sleep. She is not an extremely hard grader but it is annoying to go to the class. Dont wast your money on the book its useless

Don't need to buy the book. Take good notes and study and you'll be fine. She gives a lot of slides for the tests but as long as you study from your notes there's no reason why you shouldn't get an A on the test for the class. She's really nice as well

Heise is very passionate and it shows in her lectures. they're fascinating in my opinion. she promotes discussion and is open to opinions. she was great, very knowledgable about the topic, and made it interesting. i recommend her classes.

don't need the text at all..she includes about half of the information that she expects you to know about each painting in her lectures..60+ slides PER MIDTERM AND FINAL..very overwhelming while studying, but interesting to listen to in class.
