Comment:
The negative ratings for Professor Wilfong seem to clearly be those not willing to put in the work. Its true shes a bit ruthless on grading but help us given to those who ask. An initial disdain slowly turned into a great respect for her. If you are willing to do the work and stay the course she will make you a better writer and thinker!

Gives vague directions but grades strictly. She'll give you a 0 for a little format issue. For your GPA's sake, DO NOT TAKE!! I wish I never did.

If you forget anything regarding format or instructions you could get a zero on the assignment. 1 minute late, zero. Expects you to find things in the foreign films that aren't there. Doesn't respond to emails if you have questions. Takes at least two weeks to grade.

Peggy Wilfong is one of the most caring people I know. I had the opportunity to be in class with her and despite the tough class I learned more from her in a semester than I did in 4 years of high school. The biblical integration and application of what was being read helped me grow in amazing ways. If youre willing to work, this is a great prof.

This course was the hardest course I have taken, and not anything I thought it would be, her syllabus is pretty vague, and you dont do something exactly right you will get lots of points deducted. This class was so bad that everyone I know who has taken it wishes they hadnt. It was hard putting many hours a week into the course only to do bad.

I took her World Mythology class online over the summer, and I loved it! She graded fairly, stated why things were wrong, and presented a very thought provoking and interesting course. Definitely recommended!

Professor Wilfong knows her stuff and I learned a lot about Mythology. Wish for more feedback on content and not just writing style on papers. NOTE: she is INFLEXIBLE with regards to grades and timely submissions (NO EXCEPTIONS). If you are late- YOU WILL receive a "0" and no feedback. GPA wrecker for sure- all A's thru 2.5 yrs until this course.

Wonderful and caring woman who likes to come across as a tough, cynical feminist. She can tell who is really making an effort in her class though, so you pretty much get out what you put in. One of the hardest classes I've ever taken, but boy did I know British Lit at the end.

Dr. Wilfong is one of the few professors I have had who I can concretely say changed my life. I came to her as a freshman English major, successfully failed her course, and over the next three years proceeded to learn immensely from her about analyzing both literature and the world, as well as hard work.

Dont't take Dr. Wilfong if you won't follow her easy-to-understand directions and you expect great grades for doing nothing . She will bend over backwards to help anyone who truly wants to learn. If you approach her with a know-it-all attitude and expect her to change all the rules, she won't. She made me a much better writer. But I was willing.

Rude, old and grumpy professor. Also a harsh grader. I went to the writing center 2x for my research paper and put countless hours of work into it. On the feedback for each section she said I did a good job. But when I submitted the whole paper at the end of the course she teared at apart saying I put mediocre effort into it. Worst professor ever.

This professor is the reason I hate taking any non-major courses. I have put effort into the course by always reading the textbook and writing excellent research papers. However, wilfong is very unhelpful. Like the other comments say, her syllabus is contradictory and she doesn't know what she is saying.

Don't take this course with this professor. This professor was rude and very unwilling to help her students. Her instructions are very unclear and if you miss any deadline for circumstances that are beyond your control she does not care at all and will give you a zero. Rude professor, please don't take this class.

One of the most difficult people I have ever known. I have never met someone so bitter and stubborn about helping students. I'm not sure why she is teaching, perhaps she enjoys taking out her issues on students. Avoid taking classes with this professor at all costs.

Horrible professor. She has very unspecific guidelines and yet she grades in a way that she wants to without giving explanation. She is not helpful and refuses to meet with you (I'm in an online class) even though I had a few questions about a paper. DO NOT TAKE world mythology with her. It will screw up your gpa even if you put effort in.

Dr. Wilfong is probably the nicest professor I've had. I only had her for composition, but she genuinely cared about the class academically as well as in our lives. She is guaranteed to make you a better writer. She is an incredibly hard grader, but is very clear on what she wants and changes assignments to fit t students' needs.

I took Composition with her, and she's wonderful about making assignments clear and adjusting them in order to better accommodate students. I love her as person and a teacher, just not always as a grader (very high writing standards). CU Comp class is a challenge if you aren't strong in English, but that's true regardless of the prof. She's great.

This professor has no sense of the word understanding. Her syllabus is not that specific, but she grades in a very specific way. She is without reason and is incredibly stubborn. She religiously believes in due dates and does not believe in late grades no matter the reason.
