DON'T TAKE ADLAW WITH MANUS (at least online). He talks for 2 hours straight and when someone tries to ask a valuable question, he dismisses it and says all discussion should happen on the discussion boards and not during class. He skips over the critical facts. Loves the sound of his own voice. You've been warned

I've taken Manus for two classes, and to this day both of those finals were the absolute most atrocious things I've experienced in law school. However, he knows they're rough, and grades accordingly. (Watch out for the pop quizzes though.) He is super funny and smart. One of my favorite profs at the school. You'll learn a lot from his classes!

Manus is definitely one of my favorites. He is so energetic which really helps with evening classes. He is a little terrifying at first, but after about 20 minutes you realize he's actually really nice and completely approachable. You need to be prepared for every class because he cold calls.

Very engrossing. Acknowledges that Ad Law is byzantine & odd; emphasizes/clarifies important stuff in the mass of reading. One of the funniest people I've met. Our class was "lucky" - the Trumpster fire started when our course did. Manus used it to explain the course material. 1 regret - Comey's dismissal came after semester's end. C'est dommage!

Manus's exam is notoriously wicked tough, but you will 100% leave Admin with an absurd amount of knowledge on the subj matter. Regular quizzes throughout the sem to keep you one you toes. But if he gives idk 8 quizzes worth 5 pts per, he grades it @ the end out of 30 (vs. 40, so if you don't read for cple classes youre still ok). Great dude, cares.

We had to split the course between Teich (awesome) and Manus. Manus covered very little material. He's hilarious, and class was fun, but the exam was ridiculous (the whole class felt the same way). There were questions where I genuinely knew the ins and outs of the law, but had to fight it out with his answer choices. Good luck!

Prof. Manus is difficult but fair. He demands that you come to class prepared and will expect you to be able to discuss cases in DEPTH. Though the lectures can leave one dazed, Prof. Manus will take time to discuss and clarify issues after class. His final was short and MC- BUT VERY DIFFICULT! Know the holdings, concurrances, and dissents.

Manus, Manus, Manus. People thought I was nuts taking Manus 3 times, and I was. However, I did ace every class, which is also pretty amazing. Very hard, abstract and intimidating as hell. He'll grill you if you don't know something. His finals don't really test how well you know the material, just random multiple choice. Also has paper reqs. Hard!

DO THE READINGS. If you prepare for class, you'll be fine. An excellent professor for those who are ready for class. DO THE READINGS. Teaches via the oh-so feared Socratic method. DO THE READINGS!! Di I mention Do the readings??

The fact they give this guy to 1L's in their first semester is hysterical. He is a genius, he knows it though. He is really funny though, and will make you prepare like hell for each class - loves socratic method, and if he can tell you didn't prepare adequately, he will NOT let you off the hook. Great professor in hindsight though; you will learn.

Great class presentation and preparation. Hilarious guy, has quick response for questions posted on the discussion board or posed in e-mails. MC final exceedingly difficult. Be prepared for his class, he takes full advantage of the Socratic method.

Great professor! I don't know why I had heard such bad things about his class. He is extremely funny and smart. His class was tough, but not impossible. He expects you to work hard for your grade, but why he shouldn't he? ... it's law school!

Very difficult once things start getting hard and he doesn't really help. Mostly he makes it worse and serves to confuse you more by making up weirder hypotheticals.

Impossible exams (class average of 4 correct answers on 15 question multi-choice quiz). Comes across as rude and arrogant, esp if he thinks someone is not paying attention to every single word he says. Only answers student questions with vaguer questions of his own. Wants people to learn on their, but wont help them when they stumble.

I don't know why he has recieved such negative ratings. I felt the information was explained clearly and testing was fair. He was also very helpful when queried. MCs are never easy in law school but his were as fair as any. I guess some people recieved poor grades and decided to blame it on him - personally Prof. Manus was one of my favorites!

Plain Awful - the exam was all impossible multi choice. Originally he told us it would be half essay then changed his mind about 2 weeks before the test. He goes way too fast, explains little and does not prepare students for classroom success or the real world.

While this class is geared toward those who want to work in the environmental field, it was good for an overview on the subject. This is Prof. Manus' love, and that really comes through. It's a good class if you like the prof and can deal with a lot of statutory material.

Way too focused on class participation. Half the class was lost and would get annoyed if someone spoke up about being lost. That take home final was impossible. No one knew what was going on and he refused to clarify it. I spent hours trying to make sense of it. Was my worst grade of the semester and it prevented me from graduating with honors.
