This class was incredible. It focused on positive psychology for lawyers and how to make the legal field a more positive, nurturing place. Class is easy. There's a lot of varied reading and journals with self reflection. Meets once a week and most weeks there's a guest speaker and avid discussions.

This class is the best class you could take. It focuses on what legal career will make you the happiest and most successful, and then drafting a plan in support of that. The class is underrated and the description is boring, but there are no cases, no exams, it's a lot of self-reflection, and it's honestly a fun class.

Prof. Baker's Negotiation course was fun & interactive. You learn a lot about your personal negotiation styles in comparison to other negotiation styles. The course provided various hands-on simulation opportunities to practice advocacy skills and different negotiation approaches. Great class!

One of the best courses I took in law school. It was a fair amount of work but worth it a million times over in terms of self development and legal career planning. Prof. Baker offers valuable networking opportunities, legal marketing skills, and professional advancement advice-- all through the development of a personal legal business plan.

Leadership & Character Strengths exceeded all of my expectations. What I thought was sort of a fluff course, turned into a very valuable exercise in self-awareness, tactics, and strategy. Prof. Baker is committed to making each student's experience the best it can be. You won't learn law, but you will learn valuable information about yourself.

The course Law Practice Planning is one of the most beneficial courses I took at Suffolk Law School. It helped enable me to understand what career path fits me and helped me establish a plan for my career goals. I gained a lot of expertise in the enterprising side of the law, marketing techniques, and was able to network with practicing attorneys.

Professor Bakers leadership class was the most practical and best class I have taken in law school. I learned a great deal in this class about my own character strengths and how lawyers can use their training to be leaders. In my opinion this is a groundbreaking class for a law school to be offering and I am sure it will only grow in the future.

Baker is knowledgeable, willing to assist, and his class covers as many topics as possible without overwhelming. It's a great property overview. My guess is any negative reviews are based on the fact that he expects students to do all of the assigned reading and be prepared to be called on each week. If you're prepared, his lectures are spot on.

Not knowing what the Leadership/Character class would be like, I was pleasantly surprised to encounter an unexpected learning experience about positive qualities I possess and how to use them in my future career. Professor Baker introduced us to a new way of thinking which was not based on what we are doing wrong but what we are doing right!

Professor Baker does a good job of making sure the student gets the material. I am not sure why people are commenting the way they are. He offers every opportunity to make sure the student gets it. These students need to put in the effort required for the course.

Comment:
Baker has a somewhat unorthodox style of teaching in that he will keep asking you the same question until you can figure the answer out your own. Seems to be distracted by his own interests in psychology which interferes at times with the topic although he assures it will help us focus. His exam is not bad, and he isn't either.

This class is the worst, ever, not just law school in the history of my academic career. Baker pretends to be supportive of night students in his comments, but not in his actions. Buy Emanuel, it is your only hope of learning property. I was really excited for this class, and now, just looking to celebrate the end & learn (not review) for the bar).

Worst prof. I've had so far. Coming from a student in top 10%: If you can avoid him, do so. He may have good intentions, but the lectures are generally unclear, he gets frustrated easily, his syllabus is not updated, and his email communications to the class confuse students rather than clarify the discussion topics.

Get ready to teach yourself property! Sent him an email to ask a question and it took him 1 MONTH to respond. Class is generally useless and he wants specifics on the cases. Spends most of the class calling on students. If I wanted other students to teach me, I wouldn't be in law school.

Excellent professor, consummate professional, genuine mentor. Professor Baker never spoon fed material to students, but taught us how to think through problems, which I think is invaluable. Always available and more than willing to explain things outside class. I recommend him to students who are serious about gaining analytic skills.
