He is a great teacher. He cares about his students and wants the best for everyone. He has performed with me many times and he was great. The only reason people don't like him is they are jealous. I am so thankful to have him as a teacher.

Generally a really great guy. His teaching and descriptions are helpful and his interest in his job is highly prevalent. He does get grumpy, but he also has a lot on his plate.

He is a good teacher, and everyones teaching style is different. I agree with the way he teaches, and he is very approchable. 99% of the kids dont talk to him so why try if they wont? Every teacher has one of those days. You have to realize how stressed he always is. Mr. Cothran is thes best teacher I've had yet.

a great musician. not a very good teacher. his teaching is amazing but he is very unapproachable and is extremely succeptable to brown nosing and picks favorite students. awards chairs and student leadership roles sometimes based on how much he likes you or parents' status in the band.

He is arrogant. He thinks he's sooo good at trumpet, but one time he played with some college guys for a Christmas thing and he didn't practice and effed up in front of everyone and it just goes to show how little he cares about anything. And his conducting sucks. The director of one of the colleges said his conducting was vanilla'ie and weak. HA!

He gave me first chair even when I completely f***** up my audtion. I mean I am a good player but obviously he just doesn't care who does the best during the audition. He has made up his mind before even hearing how hard people have been working, not that I didn't work hard.

Cothran could care less about how talented or deserving you are. If your parent is a prominent member band boosters you get a good chair even if you suck. You could be 1st chair and not know how to read music. He is manipulative and lies. He makes excuses and doesn't challenge your abilities. He demeans you in public just b/c he is in a bad mood.
