I waited until my last semester to take this class, but Professor Guy was amazing! There was 1 persuasive speech, 1 informative speech, and 1 group project. You get to pick the informative topic and use PowerPoint. The persuasive is just a speech. The group project is a website & you dont have to present on zoom you just submit to the professor.

Comment:

Professor Guy is one of the best professors at MJC. I was always skeptical about taking this class. Now that Ive completed this class I feel more confident thanks to Professor Guy. Hes funny, caring, and offers great feedback. Theres 2 speeches, quizzes, journal assignments, 1 group project., and extra credit. I highly suggest taking him!

Comment:

Professor Guy is a solid choice and easygoing. Couple of short-response journal assignments, reading quizzes, extra credit opportunities, free online textbook and just TWO speeches (informative and persuasive). I took COMM 100 three times and either failed or withdrew but stuck it out in his class and ended up getting an A+!

He is a really funny and quirky guy. Totally a good teacher to choose in the Communications department. For COMM132 attendance was not mandatory. In COMM120 I'm not sure but I showed up every day. NO HOMEWORK in COMM120. He makes both classes interesting and is a genuine person and professor. Totally recommend!

Professor Guy is a great teacher who cares about his students and is always there whenever they need help. What he asks of his students is not hard and as long as if you follow his criteria and put forth effort, you will pass. He is a hard working teacher who was able to transfer 5 classes to online through the pandemic and did an amazing job.

Easy going professor, always answers questions kindly and is helpful. He offers extra credit in fun(ish) ways. Was scared going into this class but made it through my speeches. He was great.

He is a great professor. The textbook is free, and required to read chapters because quizzes are based on the chapters. There's also a 8 journals which is very easy. He also gave extra credit so better take that as a opportunity. The think that I like about this course, there are only 2 speeches; Persuasive and Informative.

I had Mr. Guy for both Comm 102 and Comm 120, he's a great professor. He reminds you of assignments that are due up until their due date and offers extra credit, is very understanding, and really works with his students for their success which not too many professors do. However, attendance is pretty important for success and so is participation!!!

Loved Guy's class, it is very insightful and entertaining. Everyone in the class is very supportive of others speeches. Glad I took it and will help with confidence building.

Professor Guy is a funny and caring instructor. Your grade is determined by 2 speeches: informative and persuasive. He gives out a free textbook for the course and your quizzes are based off of readings from there. The final is one group presentation. He offers a few extra credit so take advantage of it.

Professor Guy is probably one of the nicest instructors at MJC. He is so sweet, caring, and funny. Your whole grade is based off your two speeches that have to be 6-8 minutes in length each. Each week there is a 20 question quiz that is straight from the textbook. And the textbook is free! Several extra credit opportunities if you are struggling.

Great professor. His test are very easy and straightforward. Read the chapter and you will do good. Only three speeches are given throughout the semester and they are very easy to work on besides having to stand up in front of the whole class. Mr. Guy is always very willing to help you with your speeches and outline.

Todd guy is such an amazing professor. He is an easy grader, but his grading becomes tougher the more he sees your potential, he pushes you to do your best. Even if you do not like speaking in front of people, he creates an environment that is approachable and helps you be able to gain confidence!

Todd Guy is an amazing professor he is willing to give extra credit. There is chapter reading quizzes, but they aren't bad as along as you read. You only have two speeches and TRUST ME you WILL do fine. He isn't a tough grader and he is hilarious with an amazing laugh.

First day of class he can be a bit of intimidading and might make you want to drop the class. Todd Guy can be a tough grader when it comes to speeches. You will have 3 speeches that are manditory if you decide to not do your first speech he will drop you from his class. I recomend that if you stay in his class really take advantage tutoring.
