Comment:

Dr. Boats is absolutely amazing. He's so unbelievably kind and understanding and is completely aware of mental health/physical health breaks. He is also very aware of cultural differences and provides time for holidays outside of Christian holidays. His jokes are uplifting and he is incredibly smart. PLEASE take this class with him!

Comment:

The most caring professor Ive had. He is so understanding and will give you an extension on anything you need, posts lecture notes that are very helpful, and has a light work load. If I could take Professor Boats for every math class I need, I would.

Comment:

Prof. Boats was a good professor. He graded fairly quickly and gave good feedback back on tests. Class had online math homework, as long as you did the homework, you would do good on the tests and quizzes. Class ended up being 100% online, but it wasn't bad at all.

Comment:

Dr. Boats was my favorite math professor at UDM. He does an excellent job of teaching and very clearly knows what he's talking about. For anyone who has the option I highly recommend taking him, you won't regret it.

Incredibly intelligent math professor. Very passionate about his work. Willing to help and clarify anything to anyone. Interpretive square root dances and ability to solve almost any calculation in his head within like 0.0001 was much appreciated. Made a sometimes dry subject in calculus very applicable and interesting. Hope to take him again

Dr. Boats is a fantastic prof. He is a genius; he can do freakishly good drawings freehand on the board and do square roots to something like 4 decimal places... His quizzes are very fair, Maple assignments easy, grading fair. Plus he dressed up as a wizard and brought everyone candy on Halloween. In short, he actually made me ENJOY math class.

Awesome prof! Can show you several ways to do everything, makes incredible 3-D drawings freehand, and he does ridiculous calculations in his head. The projects are pretty hard, but you learn a lot and you always know whats expected. Grades fairly and lets you drop a couple quiz scores.

The class is very well structured. Turn in homework on Monday, Quiz Wednesday, project dates in syllabus. He is very understanding of students who show up late for quizzes (class is at 9am). Postponed the dates of the projects twice because one was too confusing, and for the other he wasn't available in his office for questioning the daybefore

Thye guy multiplies huge numbers in his head and is way to into his math. Knows his stuff and will make you know it. You will work hard and learn alot. Get smart partners for your project work!
