The quizzes were fairly easy as long as you read the material; be prepared to give a few speeches. Since my class was online/asynchronous, we recorded our speeches then uploaded them. (which is hard to do in a household full of people and dogs, but I made it work) He is very nice and provides excellent feedback explaining everything graded.

Comment:

You expect an easy A in most general education classes, but in this online course, you have to work at it. Total word count over the whole semester totaled to 20,000 words at a rate of 5-10 pages (double spaced) a week. However, doing these short essay makes the student really learn the study of communications. I see the world differently now.

He's definitely a tough grader. He'll assign 3-4 questions for homework from the online textbook, then you realize one answer is about 3,000 characters and he usually doesn't like the answer you give. He responds to email's very quickly. He only assigns about 3 speeches that have to be recorded and sent in. He's tough, but work hard!

I wish I did not take his class. Reading questions take too long. He does not like any of them. Get ready to write about 1000 to 3000 characters every week. He gives low grades no matter what. I do not recommend him at all! Worst course and the prof I have ever seen. So disappointed and disgusted. It takes 2-3 days to answer all of the readings.

The best online professor I have taken so far and I have taken many. Very understanding, fair grader and answers all emails real fast. There is a lot to do in this class, but it is not hard and very doable. There is about two assignments do every week that are from the text book and there are 3 speeches you write out and record yourself presenting

He is the best !!!! I was so nervous that I had to take a public speaking class, I knew the only possible way I'd be able to get through it was if I took the course online. AND I LOVE IT. I never thought I'd say it. The speechs are easy, he makes sure you have the right material before you present so you do great. I highly highly recommend!!!

He is an excellent example of what an online Professor should be like. He gets your grades back in a timely manner and comments on your work thoroughly and tells you where you need help. He responds to emails within one day of sending it! He even gives extra credit for those who need to boost their grade. I would 100% take this class again!

This online Speech class was really easy. I have no complaints with professor Jewell. He's an easy grader. He's really nice and responds to emails promptly. There are 15 quizzes that are simple to do each week and also weekly class discussions. He gives lots of extra credit. And only 2 speeches for the semester. I highly recommend Professor Jewell.

I took this class online and he's a great teacher but I had to drop this class. That's only because I fell behind and I couldn't catch up. He even emailed me telling me I was falling behind but at the I knew I wouldn't be able to do it. But his assignments are so easy and very straight forward. Next semester I will most definitely take his class.

Awesome teacher !! Gives like 10 extra credit assignments ,gives about 15 quizzes but they're all open book/google online,and 2 taped speeches and 2 outlines,easy A if you do the work

AVOID THIS CLASS AT ALL COSTS!! Professor is unbelievably rude and talks down to his students VERY much! This was supposed to be a Speech class and all we did was two speeches.. I learned nothing! The whole semester revolved around the breakfast club.. Horrible grader.. I still got a B+ so its not be being bitter.. He is a horrendous professor!!!

He is really helpful, if u do all your home-works +tests on time and do good , you will definitely get a good grade. Over all he has a GREAT personality. Very understandable person for students like me (ESL).

Prof. Jewell is a really nice guy. He was very helpful and understanding. I took the Hybrid course & missed two tests deadlines & no questions asked he let me make them up. Although his tests & quizzes have very ambiguous questions making it near impossible to get a 100. Other than that, he was an awesome teacher & I do recommend him

hybrid class- it was pretty easy but there was a lot of work. portfolio for speeches, 3 tests that u def. need to read the book for and watch out for trick questions!, great teacher and easy to understand! i enjoyed his class very much and i def. recommend taking his speech class!
