Professor Fong is a kind, patient, and enthusiastic teacher. She is very open to questions and different opinions and ties them into the discussion. It's fascinating to hear her talk about different kinds of qualitative studies that have been done. I really learned how to conduct a qualitative study in her class. It is a lot of work, but you get

Really inspiring professor, funny, energetic, friendly, down-to-earth. Provided detailed and timely feedback on assignments. She really cared about us and our work so we wanted to meet her expectations. Helped me improve my research project a lot!

Comment:
One of the finest professors at the Ed School as well as the University as a whole. Frequently gets teaching awards, has a great sense of humor, deep insights, and profound lecture material. A must have addition to one's educational experience at Harvard.

Comment:
Her lecture is as predictable and as uniteresting as her appearance. The only saving grace are the readings she assigns, which makes attending her class unnecessary. In the discussion group she handles of about 12-15 students, she does not even know their names, even those who are the most participatory. She doesn't care to know.
