Not a very friendly teacher. Mr. lam is impatient and gets frustrated if you ask questions. He doesnt care if you are understanding the material. Terrible, dont take his class

Professor Lam's teaching style isn't great. He has prewritten examples that he puts up on the projector for you to copy. He makes you feel stupid when you ask questions. Do not take this class if you are learning the material for the 1st time or aren't good at math. If your up for a challenge take this class. Study the review, same exact ?s as test

Does not take attendance so it is okay to miss some classes. However, DO NOT MISS THE REVIEW. The test is everything based of on the review. So study the review and you can pass the class. Class is based on points so and only thing he inputs is the homework and tests points. At the end he replaces your worst grade with the Final Test grade.

Comment:

He explained the concept in a clear and logical way. You do need a good background in Intermediate Algebra in order to do well in this class. I understand him 100% even though he has a little accent. You need to ask yourself whether you don't understand Math or you don't understand the professor. Some bad students liked to use this excuse.

I would not recommend taking his class if you haven't taken the math prior to math 25. He writes examples from the book on the board. It's hard to understand him because of his accent. Also, if you ask for help you tells you "you should already know this stuff". One good thing is he replaces your lowest test score with half of your final score.

This teacher doesn't explain himself just writes examples on the board. His tests are so hard. Speaks with a harsh accent so it is very hard to understand what he is saying. I would never take his class again. He constantly makes mistakes on the board. Isn't very approachable.

the class could be easier if you felt you had a chance. i failed my first test and he said "i suggest you drop the class" his favorite words were "you should know this by now" I did all my homework and there was no use in wasting my time even if i passed the 2 test or the 3rd if i failed anything else he said it was an F!!!!!!

Mr. Lamb is a nice pleasent person to come to school to. He helped if needed. He was a very knowledgable man. He had a very good organized way of teaching.

I dropped his class after the first class because I knew I couldn't pass with a teacher like him. He pretty much just wrote examples on the board and didn't teach a thing... didn't even turn around to see if anyone was awake. I guess if you are awesome at math he would be an easy A, but I wouldn't recommend him otherwise.

His tests are multiple choice. He covers everything in class and answers questions if you don't understand something. He spends as much time on the homework as people need in class. I'm really bad at math but I passed his class no problem.

Ok... This professor has a very "I shouldn't have to repeat myself, and you should already know this" attitude. I asked a question once and he responded with a one word term and said "you should already know this" without explaining anything. Since he doesn't check homework if you're not disciplined I wouldn't take this professor.

He dosen't grade homework, just tests, but he drops the lowest score. His test questions are right off the homework. He will explain problems, but you have to ask for specific ones. Go to class, he works the problems for everysection. Don't fall behind.

I took all three algebra classes with Prof. Lam. I like the way he taught. He worked out problems step by step in a well organised way. You should not have any difficulties in understanding his lectures if you passed the prerequites.

I wouldn't recommend Mr. Lam for those who aren't great at math. He's VERY impatient. He seems to just "go through the motions" and is ineffective at relating abstract concepts. He clearly expects his students to already know the material, which defeats the purpose of him being a "teacher".

He is very inpatient. he expects one to know the math. not helpfull at all. I would not take a class with him again.
