Dr. Bremner is a true gem in the math department. I had him for MAT 440, and he made the subject of groups interesting and engaging. I am currently taking him for 445 (Number Theory), which is his field of study, and his passion for the subject is incredible and puts a smile on my face. I hope that I get the chance to have Dr. Bremner again.

I could not say enough good things about Dr. Bremner's course. He is compassionate and kind and funny and a brilliant lecturer. I would advise students to go to class as much as possible. He explains things quite well and with sufficient clarity. Make sure not to slack off on the homeworks! Exams were quite difficult. Grades quite quickly.

Really enjoyed this course & subject overall. Admittedly, Professor Bremner can go pretty fast during lectures; that caught me off guard on the first day, so be prepared for that. Exams are very straight forward; if you're able to complete & understand the homework (which is due weekly, don't start the night before!), then you'll be in good shape.

The class is not easy. Exams are tough. Do all the homework. Go to his office. He's willing to help when you ask. He is one of the best professors at ASU.

The best professor I have ever had in college! He is a pure genius, very knowledgeable especially in his field - Number Theory. He is always caring for his students and makes sure his lecture is delivered clearly. Humble but amazingly inspiring. I learned so much from this class and from professor Bremner himself.

The professor himself is a nice guy. First two tests seem to be easy but if you don't write the proofs correctly he will chop off points like no one else. The homeworks are reasonable and you must do thiem if you want to pass. The final is insane, I got a C but barely put any work in it though.

He's a great professor and teaches very clearly. The first two exams were similar to homework and in class examples and were at a reasonable level of difficulty. The final was completely different from anything seen in the class. He didn't curve. Get your points early.

Bremner is super awesome. One of my favorite professors I've had at ASU. I would recommend him for any course. He has a great sense of humor, has fun in lectures, but is also very very clear. What is expected from you in the course is clear and his tests were completely reasonable.

I really, really enjoyed Dr. Bremner as an instructor. He is brilliant, funny, kind and approachable. This class was no cake-walk for me, but I've certainly learned a lot. Best test prep is reviewing homework. Favorite class moment: Bremner, "Have I ever told you my favorite palindrome?" and he proceeded to recite a paragraph of a palindrome.

The best professor ever. I have taken 3 of Bremner's classes so far. He's too smart. If you get to know him, He'll blow your mind. He makes coming to class exciting. His tests are fair. He's from Cambridge. He's a great number theorist and loves what he does. He has been teaching for over 25 years in some classes. No professor can top this genious.

MAT443 is relatively difficult but not too difficult. Dr. Bremner's class is basically lecture/HW based. This class gives the record for the number of pages of notes I've taken for one class. Overall I'd recommend Dr. Bremner's MAT443 class and also having him as a professor. For his tests know all the basic proofs for ea. section and definitions!

This professor is probably the best professor out there. I enjoyed the class and thought it was pretty easy if you actually like math proofs. This guy is so funny and has taught this class for so many years. I highly recommend this professor.

Dr. Bremner is a great professor. He made MAT 300 probably simpler to understand and less daunting than other professors. Test problems are similar to lecture/homework problems, so pay attention. In my opinion he prepared me well for proofs of higher level math courses.

This is a very tough class but he will help you as much as possible when you ask. Do the homework and know definitions because they help you with the proofs. He is very knowledgable and gets excited about the material. I would take him again.

Ditto to the below poster. MAT 300 is a tough course - you retrain your brain to think a different way about math. Almost zero computation in this course. Know definitions - they will solve almost every proof. Try every homework problem. Dr. Bremner is funny and pleasant to be around, so going to class is easy to do. Take him for sure.

MAT300 is one of the weed out courses for the math majors. Some have to drop and retake it. Regardless, Dr. Bremner is in my opinion of the best (coming from a student of his and opinions of other MAT300 professors). Do the homework, study the homework and examples in class, KNOW THE DEFINITIONS. You'll get at least a B if you do that.

Very smart guy who lectures quickly but will slow down if asked (and reminds you to ask him to slow down if he gets too excited, which he tends to do often). This is a tough subject and without a lot of experience with proofs (more than just MAT 300), this class will provide a challenge but if you do the suggested homework, you will succeed.
