Comment:

Madame Brierre is not an easy teacher but learning another language is HARD sometimes. She expects you to STUDY and if you answer wrong she does make faces. She likes things to go quickly and for people to be engaged. Professors don't have to be your buddy. Don't whine. Do your work, study hard, you'll be fine. She's really a lovely woman.

It's not that bad of a class if you study and pay attention. She hates you if you talk or laugh during class. She loves if you play a musical instrument or sing for her and she enjoys a good sense of humor... to a point. She'll let you out early if there's a pretty sunset and she always wants fiestas.. so say it's your birthday. Avoid eye contact.

I had Brierre three years ago and I still can't forget what a horrible seven weeks that class was before I dropped. She did not teach, merely read out of the book. If I had a question she would be annoyed to answer it. She hates students for not knowing what "she" thinks they should already know, and will not help you after that. A terrible teacher

Overall, I would not reccomend taking this class if you have never taken a spanish class before. She is unhelpful, and refuses to answer your questions. She makes you feel stupid if you don't know an answer, by saying ugh and asking someone else. Don't take this class if you acctually want to learn spanish because she doesnt teach just makes u read

This teacher is Hard. She offers very little help when you don't know the answer. Her method of teaching in her own words is, "I don't give you answers, I will lead you to the answers." Her lectures consist of just reading straight from the book. Her class is extremely boring!!! Don't take this teacher unless you have already taken a spanish class.

I've taken all 5 french classes at SB and am finishing an AA in French. One thing to say. AVOID BRIERRE AT ALL COSTS. She is completely inept as a professor, and through insecurity she tries to make up for it by being difficult. She has a long history of being horrible at the college, but because of tenure cannot be fired. Wait or take at it IVC!

If you took spanish 1 in highschool i really recommend this class. She can be confusing at times, but her tests are really easy. It's better to come to class ready to participate, but if you took spanish in highschool, you can just chill back do the homework and ace the tests. It's that easy.

It is true, this teacher does expect a lot from her students, but she is fair. She expects you to come to class prepaired. I feel that if you do the homework and go to class, you will recieve a good grade on the tests. She makes you go up to the board a lot. I thought she was very caring and considerate.

This teacher expects alot from her students. If you put in the effort she will be helpful. At first I was having a hard time understanding since English is not a primary language ontop of that she teaches French.If you are new to Spanish i dont suggest taking her, but you can get by if you have taken high school spanish. Nice lady though! Got an A!

I think that a teacher that teaches spanish should at least know how to speak english. She "reviews" with tenses most of the class has not even learned yet. She does everything out of the workbook, so you'll learn just as much doing the workbook at home, because she doesn't add anything to help or faciliate your learning experience. Stay away!

I thought she was nice. She is un clear about some stuff, but overall shes cool. She will grow on you just give it time. Particapation is key in her class. Test are not easy, but she grades easy and fair. If you show effort, you will pass. I recommend her.

Do not waste time trying to reach her--cant be bothered to return phone calls or reply to emails. (Note plural) If registered and unable/unwilling to turn up for the first day, do not count upon her dropping you from the register...ever. Make sure you dispute any discrepancies before she submits your grade because she doesnt keep records.

She is unclear about when homework is due and leaves most of the class confused. She calls on ppl who know french more often than those who don't which I find a little strange. She picks favorites too. Overall, she's not that great.
