this guy Is a good teacher. if you're like me and skeptical about all these rave reviews and if its just based on the teachers nice personality etc, forget it, this guy knows his stuff and he knows how to explain it. and has a nice personality and a sense of humor while teaching. so if you have a chance to take him, do it, and thank me later

Comment:

Mr. Hayes is the reason why I was able to pass Math 148. For the first time ever in a math class, I genuinely understood the material and how it was being applied, as opposed to just memorizing the steps. He was really fantastic and always helpful. He's willing to go above and beyond or his students, and it's obvious how much he genuinely cares.

Comment:

Mr. Hayes is in my top 5 teachers OF ALL TIME. He is hilarious, always helpful, and is a math genius. Mr. Hayes explains things very clearly giving you plenty of time to copy from the board. He also takes any questions that you have during class and makes sure that you know what you're doing before moving on. TAKE HIS CLASS.

Comment:

He gives graded tests and quizzes back next class. He goes over problems thoroughly and makes them understandable. Always willing to answer questions in class and during office hours. Gave extra copies of tests and answer keys to study for final. Only takes off partial points if answer is partly right. Homework problems are suggested not graded.

Mr. Hayes Mr. Hayes. "And then you put a little sprinkles on the glazed donuts! Oohhh! I just love me some glazed donuts!" He makes the class so funny and interesting. Repetition is key and Mr. hayes is so great at cleverly repeating what we need to remember at the right moment during his lectures. and He gave out clear handouts the whole semester!

Doesn't teach from the book. He gives out his own wkshts. His atmosphere was bubbly. He raises his voice really high while acting silly. I wasn't as amused as others. Listen in class, take notes, do wkshts. He sometimes doesn't cover everything that we should know on the tests. He takes off little points as he can and gives credit for work shown.

This class was really bad, he barely knew what he was doing, he was disorganized with his teaching, very unhelpful. the material wasnt difficult, but he made it more confuseing, one day we had a sub and i got more out of that one day with the sub than with Mr. Hayes the whole quarter

Worst Class Ever. You never use the textbook you purchase. Test is based off of his notes (his notes are not easy to comprehend as he goes on a soap box). I think CSCC needs to evaluate this class and remove him from ever teaching another class.

STAY AWAY!! I am currently in his class and he is the worst teacher I have ever had. Some of the students in his class could teach us better than he can! His grading has no rhyme or reason to it. You could get everything right on a question and just forget the equal sign and he will take off 15 points outta 20. Stay away!!

If you want take math 1148, please take other instructors. He is not helpful at all. second he grades hard maybe you have the write answer and he marks wrong because you have to do the way he does. He is very very bad person. my adivice is you take other instructors. others are way better than this instructor. didnt like him at all. not helpful

Waste of time and money! All he does is go over proofs. Tests are nothing like homework or probs from the book. Expects you to write out and explain the formulas used or gives no credit. Class avg on first test was 50% and he said, "that's what I look for on my tests." over 50% of the class dropped in 4wks, and lectures are a snooze fest! Stay Away

Hsyes was slow to grade, unclear on what he wanted or expected, then removed points when you were confused or unclear of his expectations. Slow to respond to questions and once he did, very confusing answers. Questions needed to be asked or worded differently to receive a good enough response. Yes, I got an "A" but it was in spite of his teaching

Mr. Hayes is the sweetest, nicest guy ever! I usually don't rate my professors, just use this site when I schedule my classes, but I had to give Mr. Hayes a good review! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TAKING HIS CLASS! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!
