Comment:

Book was inexpensive, material consisting of invaluable life skills. I had Bob for interpersonal communication. He's quite the character and reminded me of Steve Carrel! He had some very interesting stories, and a great sense of humor, sometimes you'd wish he'd get to the point. Test days were tough, as he'd talk too long, leaving insufficient time

I don't know why he has such high ratings. As a person, he's entertaining and fun. As a teacher, he taught me next to nothing. If tests were on his life stories, then I would have aced them all, but as it was, tests were on subject matter we never talked about. He also makes you sing in front of the class if you're a couple minutes late.

Bob Alto is one very unique teacher. Probably the most outgoing teacher you will ever have whether it's college or high school. He is the opposite of boring and he usually grades fairly. The only negatives might be that more than half of the class is him telling stories but if you just follow the rules, you shouldn't worry about failing his class.

Great personality! Always outgoing. He makes class so fun and will make sure you understand every assignment. Also, he will make sure you feel comfortable when giving your speech.

Bob is an interesting person. The entire hour and half class is spent on his life stories which can be depressing/boring. The tests are moderately hard; a lot of the things on it are not discussed beforehand. Attendance is mandatory. This is not the easiest class.

This was not only a very informative class but also fun. Bob was a great teacher who made you want to do well. He had a very personable nature with all the students and interacted with everyone. Bob madfe you want to do well for yourself as well as for him.

He's a nice guy, but the tests were sometimes difficult because we hardly discussed the content during class. 90% of class time is spent talking about his life stories.

He is sooo much fun. The only thing I don't like is that in our hour and a half class the first hour are stories about his life and the last half hour is actual class. I loved his stories but I didn't like driving all the way to campus just for story time.

I took two of Bob's classes in 2002. I just want to say he is one of the best teachers I've ever had. His public speaking class changed my life. He's a tough grader and tough on attendance but he's very approachable and easy going. You never feel intimidated by him. I highly recommend his public speaking class to anyone!

Great class, learned alot, and the teacher is pretty cool. He tends to pick o the class alittle, but does not discriminate. There is alot of assignments given and a week to do the take home final then you get an in class final when you turn it in. You learn alot.

Bob is a real guy tells lots of stories and there is never a dull moment. He has a great sense of humor and an amazing personality! Not to say the class is an easy A you have to do your work and practice but its not tough if you try. It will be time well spent. You are gaurenteed to improve your public speaking and learn something about yourself.

I've had an OK experience with Bob. He is full of himself, but interesting. Often he spends the class period (1.5 hrs) just lecturing without a clear point or structure. He is very into pointless anecdotes. Also, he thinks of himself like some older mentor-like person who's every word is gospel...it's not.

You either love him or hate him. He's extremely inappropriate. Talks about hotties and sex to an uncomfortable point. He also is into "touching". His class shouldn't be college level. Bob Alto is a man of integrity, intelligence and ingenuity. Some 30 years after first having him in a public speaking class, followed by acting class, I'd like to convey my respect for him and to say that he represents the best that any community college has to offer. His sense of humor helps too.
