Comment:

I took all the American History and Political Science classes that Bruce Eckre taught from 1992-93. Too bad it was only a 2-year school. Bruce told his students if they ever came to town again, that he would have a beer with them. From high school through 4 years at a couple of colleges, Bruce was the only teacher I care to remember.

What happened to Bruce? If you weren't able to have Mr. Eckre as a teacher at NDSCS you REALLY missed out! I run into people that had him 10-20 years ago and they still talk glowingly about the man. This guy made History & Politics so damn interesting! Even if you didn't care for the subject you would after his class. I miss having his class.

Comment:

Simply the BEST teacher I've ever had. Made learning history and government fun and interesting. This guy should've taught a class on "How to teach". His style was clear and engaging, his classroom was never silent and he was always firing questions to the class. After class students would hang around and talk to him, they didn't want to leave!

This guy was so good at getting data to stick in our heads! He made government come a live and made going to class fun. I wish that there were more teachers like him. He is very well read in many areas, not just government.

I just got done taking my last final for my BA degree and was thinking about all my experiences in college. The best instructor I had, all through college, was Mr. Eckre. I learned so much from that man and enjoyed all of his classes.
