Really nice man, but not very good at teaching. Forgets what he says. Test are really hard. I would recommend staying away from this class, unless you are REALLY good at biology.

VERY nice guy. Like a cute old grandpa. He rambles ALOT and get off subject ALOT, so his class is not very interesting and extrememly long. His tests are not hard but not easy. You definitely have to do your part in studying but not very hard.

Reminds me of a cute grandpa. Very nice but his test are hard. But his grading is very lenient and gives curves so in the end like an average test. He gets off subject ALOT ALOT so u dont know what important and what's not. Some things appear on his test that weren't taught but if u bring it to his attention he jus removes the question from the test. He requires attendance for bonus points on test but not for a grade in general, so if u dont care about bonus...attendance isn't required.

Well, I'm sure he's a nice guy, and makes sense, OUTSIDE the classroom. He's very sweet, but his test questions are from out of the blue! He will say one thing, and another will be on the test.

Excellent professor. Will bend over backwards for students who put forth effort. His tests can be rough, but lo and behold, it is COLLEGE! Get over it... He is full of information and will give help to anyone seeking it. Very knowledgeable. One couldn't ask for a better Bio professor.

Professor Mays TOTALLY ROCKS!!!! He is VERY willing to help and gives lots of bonus points. The problem I had with the class were the students who thought they "knew it all". GET OVER IT FRESHMAN! LEARN SOME RESPECT FOR YOUR PROFESSORS! This class was GREAT! How nice to be in a class where your professor cares and is an expert in the subject.

Great teacher, he helps you out a lot if you don't understand, always open to questions. Make sure you do the reports, they can really help your grade. His tests are so HARD, but if you read his notes it could help. He rearraged how he made his tests because we were not making good grades on his tests, really cares about you ad your grade.

Wow Mr Mays! he gives you lots of ways to get extra credit options but his test kill you! in his lectures he is all over the place and forgets what hes saying half the time. and forget about reading the book he doesnt go by it. very stressful class

Mr. Mays is a nice man and knows his stuff, however he gets off track a lot telling stories. His test are difficult. He gives NO study guides before the test. It is a must to be in class everyday. He takes roll for points. You will have a pop quiz almost every week. Most of what he talks about in class is on the test. Reading reports everyweek 2.
