A nice enough guy, but was horribly unclear as to what he wanted from us. The critiques were almost entirely useless, as well as typically 2 hours long! He's hem & haw, go back & forth as to what he liked and disliked, leaving people completely confused and frustrated.

Luckily I had already taken Color before transferring to CCAD b/c Yates didn't know a thing, or if he did he sure didn't teach it. Horrible critiques too. I feel bad for everyone that was only taught by him because they didn't learn half of what they should. Also a weird duck, he cracked big time in one of my classes. My advice is to avoid him!

Nitpicky to the point of tedium. He cares, though... but doesn't want to give you an A unless you lease your soul to him on a semester by semester basis. I put in more hours on the HW than any other class... Some times with success in his eyes, mostly not. I'm an A/B student, and I got a C. GRRRRR.

"Yeah, This looks really bad." He has no fear whatsoever with telling us that our stuff sucks. He's pretty easy and is very clear with what our projects should be like.
