If you are looking to personally grow and reach your academic potential, then Dr. Wunsch is the professor for you. Yes, you will be challenged. But you will emerge a better student and person for having pushed yourself and taken his class. The negative reviews on here are from students who want their degree handed to them.

Comment:

Dr. Wunsch is one of the best professors at Creighton. His classes are often discussion-based so be sure to read the material in preparation for class. He truly cares about his students and wants them to succeed. However, it is your responsibility to take what he has given you and learn from it. He won't coddle you so don't expect an easy A!

Comment:

Dr. Wunsch is by far the best professor I've had at Creighton! His course was a great deal of work, but completely worth it. Wunsch encourages students to participate in discussion, so be sure to read the assigned hw. Has a great sense of humor. Lectures are interesting and engaging, you will learn so much. Take Dr. Wunsch!!

Comment:

The people who rate wunsch low don't understand that wunsch expects YOU to do the learning and then come to class to discuss, he isn't going to spoon feed it. In 435, he expects A LOT from you and gets you to work and really learn and read. Its a tough, but also a high quality class that everyone should take if they can bc hes retiring in 2020.

This is by far the worst professor that I have ever had at Creighton. He is not understanding at all, does not allow students to express differing opinions from his own, and verbally attacks students. He missed 6 classes, complained about our attendance, and never went by the syllabus. Do. Not. (I never missed a class).

In class it is purely discussion based. Because of this it seems the tests may not be extremely difficult. Do not be fooled. Be able to explain terms from the text book and write coherent essays related to the bigger topics he touches on in class. This is a really great introductory course and I really enjoy his insight and this class as a whole.

Dr. Wunsch is the epitome of a good social science professor. He knows his stuff for sure, just make sure you pay attention in lecture and TAKE LECTURE NOTES! He can go off an a tangent, and surprise you with some stuff he says, but that's what makes this class entertaining! Definitely a great intro to poli sci for freshman interested in ss :)

Dr. Wunsch's class was by far the hardest class I've ever taken at Creighton, but I learned SO much. The material is extremely fun and relevant to today's economy, but be ready to read a lot and work a ton. If you want a course that will challenge you to your extremes, but will be super rewarding, this is the class to take!

If you are prepared to do a lot of work, it is well worth it! There is a lot to do for each class, but Dr. Wunsch uses class time to make sure you understand the material, so taking the time to actually comprehend the reading will make the class an easy one and will allow you to appreciate Dr. Wunsch and his teaching. I would recommend the class!

It was my favorite class! He's extremely intelligent and his lectures are always very interesting. He can go from one topic to another pretty fast so you may miss something if you don't pay attention. I learned a great deal from his class. He always connects the readings to today's circumstances. Overall, one of the best classes you could take!

It's college what do you expect? If you aren't up for thought provoking dialogue, or actually reading the material, this class is not for you. I thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Wunsch. Yes, he is a tough grader and he assigns a lot of readings, but it is a class that I felt I actually learned a lot in, and not just from the book. He does a really good job of relating everything you learn to the outside world as well. He made me develop a deeper interest in Political Science. He's very intelligent.

Comment:

Very interesting class but way too hard for a 105 level class. A lot of reading outside of class and long essay tests. That being said, I learned a ton and Dr. Wunsch incorporated a lot of current events which made the readings seem very relevant. I would recommend this course, but it is not a typical 105 level class.

Comment:

Wunsch has a lot of passion and experience in international relations which made the class interesting. He incorporated current events into class and mixed up the classes from lectures to group discussions over the reading. There is a lot of reading outside of class and the test consist of long essays, but if you put in the work you will be fine.

Wunsch's PLS 105 class simply is not worth it. This man singlehandedly made me drop my PLS major. Although he is very knowledgeable and intelligent, that's it. He is a very tough grader, and offers no feedback on his tests and gives you lower grades than you think. Avoid at all costs.

Dr. Wunsch is really challenging, but his classes are extremely engaging and meaningful. Easily one of the top professors I have had at Creighton. I highly recommend this course, and any others he teaches, so long as you are prepared to do a lot of reading! If you do the reading and participate, you'll get a lot out of the class!

Dr. Wunsch's class is by no means easy but if you are willing to put in the work you will learn an awful lot. He is extremely passionate about political science and it shows when he gives his lectures. It is important to read the section before each lecture so you can follow along. Interesting class and teacher who is always willing to help!

Dr. W gives you your moneys' worth more so than any other prof. He will not let you slack, which I consider to be one of his best qualities. His abilities in the field are inspiring. He will critique you, harshly. Become humble, its not personal, you will find him engaging, kind, and genuine in helping you become a better student.

Very unreasonable man. I went into his office for extra help and he made me feel awful about myself. He comments were duhumanizing. yes he's a good teacher, but if you want to be treated with respect, and get a teacher that will actually accept you during office hours instead of kicking you out, dont take him.
