Took her for her sexual ethics class! She was amazing! Shes so nice and encourages everyone to involve themselves in discussions. Had a couple group assignments and a group project where you are in a fair to inform CSUB students on your research. quizzes werent difficult. Take notes. If you get uncomfortable about certain topics dont bother.

I had her for a Feminist philosophy class. I learned a lot from the professor and I was able to have a more clear understanding on the concept of Feminism and how it ties together with society's standards of women and men. I was barely in her class and there was the occassional group discussions overall I pass the class with an A

Dr. Jackson is a brilliant philospher and feminist. She'll teach you to be a critical thinker. She's a taskmaster, but there is no busy work--you will be shocked at how much you will learn. She is friendly and fun but never wastes time in class and makes sure everyone gets a chance to speak. She's a tough but very fair grader. Take her!

Quizzes are done randomly at the beginning of class, so it's a good idea to be there on time and having done the assigned reading. I think I did well because I went to class, she has some fun activities that help a lot.

Unreasonable high standards. A lot of homework. Your hand will cramp. She will give you no credit at all, but you must complete it if you even want a slight opportunity to pass. She's extremely annoyingly anal. Do everything exactly as she asks, she does want you to succeed; but still, avoid her.

The course isn't easy, I made the mistake on not seeking tutoring early on. She uses powerpoints which helps but she is very anal about certain things. You need to do the homework and seek help early on if you are having trouble or you will not pass the class. She doesn't curve and doesn't give extra credit.

The work isn't too bad, but the way she grades is. Class could be clearer, but there is tutoring offered. I studied and turned in every assignment, and still had trouble. She had us use a textbook that she wrote, only she hadn't finished it yet.

Her class is difficult. Did i try?...of course. I did my homework, never missed class, and went to tutoring and i still did not pass. She does not give you credit for homework which i completed religiously. Three test=grade. So unfair. Her test are hard.

The phil. 102 book she co-wrote is super helpful. The exam is similar to the homework problems. The only bad thing is a lot of writing your hand will start to hurt but homework is not graded so you can just read along during class. Past comments mention she is a feminist or talk about her kid? Maybe she has read these and stopped with both topics.

the way she grades and the amount of work she gives out to pass that class is ridiculous. there were only three exams and one classwork assignments plus the final exam. i had a c then dropped to a d because of the final. advise not to take unless you're really good in phil or study your ass off (even though i did and i still fail)

Great! I took her for Political Philosophy and Thought and she was really clear about everything so I took her for Feminist Philosophy and I enjoyed the class so much I changed my minor. I would recommend her. Respond to her being called a 3rd rate professor. I'd say she is first rate.

From what I remember she was a good professor. Very nice and helpful, as well as smart. If you have serious problems with feminists and people of that ilk than maybe you should steer clear of her.

I was not happy about having to take a philosophy class, and I still don't like philosophy but she made the class so easy. When I got a bad grade on a paper, she was extremely helpful so that I received a good grade on the next paper. Highly recommend.

Seriously, I thought this class would suck hard. But with Dr. Jackson, I learned a lot, and enjoyed the class. She might seem difficult, but her methods of teaching make it so you remember what you learned. As I write this, I can remember the names and dates of the legal cases we studied, and I took this class in fall '05.

The only professor to give me a C and I graduated Sigma****Laude in 2006. She cannot reley information at a level that the students can understand. And beware if you don't call her Dr. Jackson-she's one of those professors that thinks just because she recieved a doctorate she's God. Very stuck up and snooty too!

Comment:
This class is flat. She stays the whole time in radical feminist thought and she preaches it with an evangelical fervor of close-mindedness. She uses coarse language in the classroom often which makes her seem more like inflated graduate student than a credible professional. The asignments were too ambiguous to complete to her liking. 3rd rate.
