This professor shows no concern for positive teacher student relationships. She is abrupt and rude with email responses to valid questions. She does not give feedback relating to grades and basically tells you to figure it out. She seems uptight and miserable in her job. Nothing about this course was inspiring and I would not recommend taking her.

She's an amazing teacher. great lecture. You just need to be there everyday or you won't pass. So much information is given every class and you only have a midterm and a final and a paper.

I signed up for this class my final semester in hopes of learning a bit about art, and acquiring my degree. The amount of reading that is necessary to pass the class is something that no sane person should subject themselves to unless they're in graduate school. Do yourself a favor, and refrain from taking a class with professor Heuer.

2 exams. 1 project ( museum visit). lecture heavy. enjoyable and understanding. doesn't test on dates. mystery slide on test BUT if you can back up your statement, she gives you the points. exams are fill in the blanks, multiple choice, explanation questions. need to take good notes, that will be your study guide. it was hard but I enjoyed class.

Lecture heavy but still enjoyable. I like art so I didn't mind the lectures but I can see how it can be really boring for some. You must be good at taking notes and be in class everyday unless you feel lucky getting your info online. No study guide except a slide list and key terms to remember. No textbook. I am taking her for another art class.

Dr. Heuer is an absolutely amazing Professor. I took her for Post War Art in the Fall, & at first she was intimidating. However, in the Spring, I decided to take her again for American Art II & she is so sweet & helpful! I spoke with her in her office for a while about the field of art history, & thanks to her help I ended up switching major!

Tests are ID and essay - dates weren't expected BUT thorough descriptions are required. It's daunting at first, but she hands out slide lists with important things starred, so be sure to write down EVERYTHING about those. She takes pauses between sentences to give you time to take notes. As long as you recognize this, studying is straightforward.

I could complain about being late or not doing a few assignments and I am guilty of that. However I did not deserve to fail. Her final was subjective and she really didn't like me, she tore me to shreds. I came out of that class with more than most who passed. I didn't deserve this grade. She gets her facts wrong. Shes angry. She is a bad teacher.

I had her for Art History Honors, so not sure how she is in her lecture hall classes. But in mine she was great! Very big on participation. so you do have to go to class. Only two papers, one project, and some assignments - no tests. She is truly passionate about art and made the class interesting for those non art students.

Amazing lectures. She goes into extraordinary detail with each work of art. Loved how there was a required art museum visit she really wants you to apply what you''ve learned. Not an easy A and definitely not a class to fall asleep in. Only strongly recommended for those passionate about art and art history.

She's a nice person and really loves the subject she teaches but she says everything out loud, nothing is written down which becomes a problem when spelling counts on tests and half of the words you have to answer with are in a different language. treat this class like a foreign language class!

Heuer is very knowledgable and passionate about what she teaches, which is great! However, she hates students and will call you out to embarrass you in class. The learning environment is not comfortable and she's very impatient with questions and will make you feel stupid. She really needs to be in a grad student setting

One of my favorite professors ever. I am bummed I didn't take her until my last semester. She is so interesting, knowledgeable , and passionate about art history that the class never gets boring. I went on an post war art history road trip because of her class. She is brilliant.

She knows her stuff, and expects you to as well. I really hated the class in the beginning but she really opened my eyes to new types of art and I actually enjoyed going. DONT HAVE YOUR PHONES OUT, I got in trouble on a daily basis... and she will call you out in front of the entire class haha!

GO TO CLASS. And get ready to take notes. Detailed notes. She talks a lot, and expects you to write every bit down. She'll tell you it's relevant, and then you'll never hear about it again. Don't try to be her friend, she won't like you. She does help with papers, so take advantage of office hours. Not an easy A, tests are always essays and IDs.

Great Professor!! Expects A LOT from her students - attend class, take notes, participate and complete every assignment (you might get an A). Learned so much from her, but don't try to be her friend... she doesn't want to be yours.

She is a very knowledgeable professor, and you can tell she loves what she is teaching. The only quarrel I had with her is that she dislikes her students, and assumes that we all think her class is an easy A. She kind of tries to make you feel like and idiot. Other than that, she is a very informative and well-organized professor.

She talks a LOT so be ready to take notes. Her tribal arts class was extremely interesting. At first I was unsure about it because she comes on a little strong in the beginning. If you pay attention, do you work, and take detailed notes, you'll be fine. Her tests are the classic art history brain dumps and a comparative essay to go along with them.
