I thoroughly enjoyed Statistics w/ Dr. Blume. I loved that he used real life experiences, including his own, to educate the class. I began terrified I wouldnt pass and finished inspired to pursue learning more. Participation is key. Dont be afraid to contribute. Dr. Blume is brilliant. Attend homework sessions, and class, and you wont fail.

Excellent math professor. While his exams are challenging, and the early schedule can be a bit demanding, he challenged me to actually study math, not just memorize it.

8am calc... need I say more? I would wish the night before that there would be a random blizzard, random tornado, anything... to keep me from having to go to his class. Not to mention, he will degrade you & embarrass you :))

Dr. Blume is extremely smart but does not explain things well whatsoever. Survey of Calc was definitely one of the most difficult classes I've ever taken. Just be aware that you'll probably be confused most of the time. Pro tip: go to the homework sessions and be prepared for daily quizzes.

Frank Blume is an extremely intelligent and knowledgable man. He is a great Statistics professor, I learned lots of new things, but sometimes he is a bit above the average student's comprehension level when explaining a new concept. He does not give much home work and will help you understand and work through it if you come to tutoring.

I took all my Calculus classes with him a while ago, but he was always caring and trying to explain as best as possible. The thing is that you have to go to class, pay attention and do your homeworks to do well. He is great. I learned a lot from him. He expects you to spend hours outside of class studying, so do it if you want to do well.

Great guy. Should be teaching grad school though. Too briliant to be teaching undergrad. Sometimes this gets in the way of his ability to teach undergrads.

Dr. Blume's approach to Calculus is exactly what the title of his book states: "APPLIED". This can be a hard transition for students who are used to formulas without a lot of crazy greek letters. He is passionate and well-learned, both in science and in art. Highly recommend, not like you have a choice of profs if you're an engineering/math major!

He is hard. I have never had as much trouble with a class as the ones that I took with him. Even though he's hard, he is always willing to help students at any time. If you have to take him, pray and see him when possible. Also, he has a foreign accent, but you get used to it after a few weeks.

He's hard, but he's really great. He can be confusing at times (the book also, since he did write it), but that's because he wants the students to understand the topics, instad of just memorizing formulas. I think this is very good, because understanding the theory behind formulas is always good.
