I love this professor to death! His class was like a breath of fresh air from the formalities of my drawing classes. To date (12/11/2013), he's been the ONLY professors I've had in college that actually appreciates my artwork. I would take another class with him in a heartbeat. Great with OSD students.

Comment:

Not very challenging, but can be critical in not the most helpful way. I wish he was contemporary-thinking, more current in artistic approach. Technically, he is excellent. Overall, I was disappointed. Oh well.

His appearance makes him seem cool and artsy, but it soon becomes obvious that he doesn't care about his students. Is very lax in crits, but grades harshly compared to how carefree he pretends his class is. Very rude.

Was nice at first, but it soon became obvious that the only time he gave real instruction was during the actual demos- once they were over, he avoided us like the plague. Nice-ish, but self absorbed, somewhat arrogant and downright rude to a lot of people. Kind of like a catty highschool girl, only with Dali's ripped off mustache.

one day someone brought in a book about printmaking and franz was literally in it showing you how to screenprint. that should probably tell you that he is IT. he is very honest, helpful, and motivating.

Franz is awesome. He is very nice and helpful. He knows what he is doing and clarifies whatever questions that you have. That is important in printmaking, because it can be confusing. Great teacher.
