Dr. Holian is incredibly intelligent and such an interesting person to meet. Any question concerning the material she is able to answer in depth and she still manages to make it interesting. She's very laid back and her class was fun to attend. Read the material! She gets frustrated when people start to take the class too lightly.

Best prof ever. Also took her for Vict Lit, Chaucer, and Nj Lit. High interest and useful participation is key if you want to get an A. Lots of opportunity for extra credit but you have to seriously go above and beyond

She's one of the most interesting people I've ever met. She knows her subject(s) very well and isn't afraid to challenge her students. She does this gently. She coaxes your mind to expand without you realizing she's doing it. As long as you put forth effort, pay attention, and try... she will reward you for your efforts.

I really enjoyed Dr. Holian's class. I was taking an introductory English class for credits to graduate. She's accommodating, funny, and a really interesting person with real world knowledge. She has a way of taking any topic and relating it to our everyday lives. You could totally get away with not buying the books!I know, sad for an English class

No real essays for this class--which some people might like, but I like writing, so it felt like something was missing. Professor just likes to talk a lot when we have class because she cancels a lot of classes. I was very disappointed in this class and another one I took with this professor. (To be fair.)

She is the best English proffesior and GCU. Her classes are fun and very informative. She actually teaches the course material unlike other proffesors. Her knowldge of the material is vast and shares it with the class making the students interested in the literature.

Holian is extremely intelligent it is unbelievable. She loves to share her knowledge with her students. Her inspiration and intelligence is contagious. She has a great sense of humor. Her teaching style is different from most, very laid back, but you learn so much from her. Take her.

She helps students to understand the Canterbury Tales - not an easy task - She is fun, funny, and filled with useful knowledge. Her way of teaching is laid back, yet you will learn. She knows her stuff and she is willing to help you learn your stuff. Not hard to pass if you care about your grades. I think she is magnificent!
