Peterson gives really good, interesting lectures. Make sure you take detailed notes from them, though. Also, good luck getting ahold of him outside of class. He takes forever to respond to emails. Don't expect anything to be graded until months after it's due. You could be failing the class and have no idea until it's too late.

One of the best lecturers I have ever had. So fun and informative in class. However, It is very hard to get ahold of him outside of class. Zero feedback on the Midterm and final. He also doesn't really create personal relationships with students. I have had 4 courses with him and I don't think he knows my name.

Great professor. Makes everything interesting and relevant to the real world. Tough grader and likes details. Makes you work for your grade. The grading system is based on A, B, C, D, and F. Doesn't give much on the exams, you end up over studying. Ask questions because the professor does not hand feed you stuff. READ and take notes on material!!!

Not my favorite prof at all. He does not stick to the syllabus, does not answer e-mails, and consistently brags about how he keeps getting interviewed by the press. Every time I try to reach out I never hear a response and he consistently changes due dates without informing students. He is a nice guy but does not have his priorities straight.

This class is a lot of work and it can be very overwhelming at times. Dr. Peterson can be confusing about when things are due and what the expectations for assignments are. However, he tries to help as much as he can and really is a lot of help for the paper. A lot of work but doable because of Geoff and with hard work.

Dr. Peterson was one of the best professors I had during my first year at UW- Eau Claire. He knew the material very well and had a passion for sharing it with others. He was very lecture-heavy, but the lectures were both informative and easy to take notes on. His sense of humor made me look forward to class every day. A great professor. Recommend.

Peterson is an awesome professor. He LOVES politics and it shows. Between how passionate he is and how hilarious he is--you want to go to class. It's crazy. He literally knows everything under the sun about politics and still manages to be completely un-bias. I don't even know if he is a republican or democrat. TAKE HIS CLASS.

Dr. Peterson is the kind of professor that will make you laugh every day in class. While he primarily gives lectures, his presentation of the material is engaging and at times hilarious! He is a bit of tough grader on the papers but if you put in the effort and seek feedback from him youll be just fine! Highly recommend taking a class from him!

Hybrid class: M/W lecture and Friday is online work. I had very little political knowledge prior to this class; Dr. Peterson made it easy for me to understand the functions of government and how it all came to be. Definitely a funny guy. 3 exams covering 5 or so chapters each. Exams have 2 short essays. 1 online module and quiz for each week of lec

Prof Peterson is funny in lecture and cares a lot about Political Science. The class has three exams and weekly homework assignments that are long but do help prepare you for the exams! You MUST go to lecture or you will fail the class, as his exams are mostly drawn from lecture and little from the book. Makes class fun!

I took this class over the winter and while the hw and quizzes are not overly difficult (if not a little time consuming), I wasn't a huge fan of the exams. Prof gives 3 essay question prompts and you have to answer 2 of them. The expectations aren't very clear for the prompts.

If you have any questions, don't expect a response back from email. Lectures aren't boring for a politics class and tests aren't crazy if you study. A lot of online homework though.

Dr. Peterson is awesome! He is so knowledgable and he truly enjoys what he does. I'm taking another class of his next semester just because he is so great. The homework is worth a lot of your grade and the access code is expensive. Tests are a little difficult but the essay portion adds some cushion. I recommend him to everyone for this class!

Dr. Peterson is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to political science. When you need help, he is going to help you. If you really need the help, or need questions answered, it's best to meet with him in person, he receives a lot of emails. Not sure why this class has bad rep. The final paper is time consuming, but nothing crazy.
