He is a good professor that cares about the success of his students. The assignments are tuned to key in on the important fundamental mathematical methods that a physics student requires to progress to the next level.

He's an interesting guy. Kind and laid back. Teaches out of the textbook, so if you miss class, it is easy to catch up. Exams are fair; you will need to know the material to pass. You can really tell that he cares that you care about what you are learning.

One time a kid in class asked a question about the amount of work we would need to put on the test and he lost him temper at the guy. He said "Well I must be wasting your time. Just because you're so smart..." Something along those lines. To be fair he was going over Fma for a ridiculous amount of time in a 3000 level physics course. : - /

Dr Astrotov is THE WORST!!!! The textbook sucks for this class too, but you can download it for free online.

Dr Astronaut comes into class and stares at the blackboard while teaching. He regularly sends out his hw sets THE DAY BEFORE the test, for which he will choose 5 or 6 of the longest problems. Bear in mind that he can only make it through 1 and a half examples in class most days. He doesn't allow you to keep your tests, only to look at them.

Dr Astratov makes it clear that he doesn't care about the class. One time he sent his graduate student to teach the class because he was "at a conference." The class and I were waiting in the hall, which is almost entirely glass, when we see him come into the building from the other side. He was at school, he just didn't feel like teaching.

Comment:
Dr. Astratov is vying for the position of worst professor at UNCC with Dr Aktas. It is clear that he does not care about the class at all. He sechedules his final 1 week earlier than the exam schedule that was posted and sent the class an email ONE DAY before. It is impossible to study all of the material of the class in one day.

Awesome professor, sounds like Borat, extremely forgiving with grades. I think I should've probably made a C according to my average, but he gave me an A. highly recommended.

Overall he's ok. I just have a hard time wit physics so its my fault. But he gives extra credit in class (added to homework) if you answer his questions. Fairly nice guy, unless you talk durin class and he'll raise hell. I didn't really understand everythin taught in this class, but still made a B.

The most awesome accent i've ever heard, but still easy to understand. Extra credit possible on every homework assignment by answering questions in class. If your not a physics person, the material may be hard, but if you do the work, it wont be hard to make a good grade. I would definitely recommend Dr. Astratov to anyone.

Attend the "review" sessions before the exams and memorize that material. Understand the concepts too and you'll surely make an A or B. Get solutions for the WebAssign and it will greatly help you!

I took Aktas and got a D. I had to retake with Astratov and made an A. Astratov is much more down to earth and much more friendly with students than Aktas. His reviews are exactly like the test and is very liberal on giving credit. gives extra credit for answering questions in class. If you can take Astratov, wait a semester just to avoid Aktas.

From what I've heard of the physics department, this man is your only chance of passing physics 2. His accent is RIDICULOUS but easy to understand. He gives extra credit on homework for participation so sit up front and speak up. Works out problems in class but exams are very difficult.

class was hard, but it IS physics 2. his accent wasnt bad, could still understand. all reviews for tests were exactly like the actual test, especially the final review. if you go to class and do homework you should be fine. gives loads of partial credit on tests.

Based on what I've heard about Aktas, this guy is relatively easy. However, on my scale of good teaching, he seemed to care 99% about his own work and only 1% about the students. You won't learn anything unless you're a phys major. The class is too nonlinear and the topics are skewed. I got an A, but I feel I didn't learn much. Oh well.

very hard class.sometimes hes hard to understand.puts notes on web which helps.test review/quiz reviews help a lot learn them and look at similar problems he has assigned for mastering physics and you should pass.mastering physics is hard but you can get the solutions from other ourses on the internet that help you understand onderstand concepts.

didn't learn a f-ing thing but I did well in the class. He could not make it any easier with out just telling you the answer. He does quiz and test reviews that are almost exactly like the ones you see on the quiz and test. All you have to do is memorize the info.
