Hes very caring and kind to people who ask for help. He does teach fast BUT is willing to stop and help students if they ask (so if you need help ask during lecture) I didnt show up to class because I was able to grasp the material but its only mandatory if you dont understand. I recommend him if youre struggling. He is willing to help anyone.

Comment:

Very funny and kind man. Teaches fast, as if he expects you to grasp everything instantly. He grades fair and gives a little extra credit if you complete and turn in all of your homework. Wouldn't recommend him to anyone who struggles with math. Ask him questions if you don't understand the material!

I loved him! He was really nice and was never rude to any of his students (at least in my class). His accent is a tad bit strong but I personally didn't have a problem understand him at all. He's really funny && sometimes lat to class. He gives you a list of HW assignments and its due on the day of the test. And he reviews before the test!

Teaches very fast. Answers questions but doesn't make sure you understand. He assumes you know much more. Tries to be funny. Study guides are the tests. 3 tests and final. Doesn't drop none. Grade is based on tests and homework. EC only given if you complete all homework. I spent a lot of time in math lab just to understand more of the material.

Prof. Ong gives reviews before the exams that are very helpful when taking the test. If you study the reviews, you should be good. He isn't that hard of a grader. He gives 16 points of extra credit if you do all the hw and he drops the lowest test score. I struggled at first, but I am so glad I stuck it out and will get a B in this class!

I took him previously. Nice guy, thick accenct. Very dry class- Saturday mornings are the worst. I fell asleep in class- it was painful and I got a "D". I retook the class online and got a B+, and then took 420 and got a B+. I recommend taking 410 online using MYMATHLAB- it is sooo much better for those who have no interest in math.

Cute little guy, and funny too. Didn't learn a thing in his class though. Its been many years since I had a real math class, and its as if he expects you to already know it. Begining of class was too slow of pace (ch 1 &2). and then he just cuts right through the rest. I wish I would have known about RMP before-I wouldve PICKED A DIFF PROF.

If you do not catch on to math very easily then I recommend you not take him. He goes by the material too quickly.He teaches math as if it was review, I think he expects you to already know the material. If you ask a question he will not explain very well.

Very nice and helpful, but I didn't learn as much as I would've liked. He teaches at a quick pace, especially during his Saturday class and his reviews questions often differ from those on the test, but he does grade fairly. If you are horrible at math, I do not recommend taking his classes, you'll just make it harder on yourself.

Had him for 410, 420 and now 25. Awesome teacher. Very fair in grading tests. Tests are always composed of what you had on homework and in class. I will miss him. He made the subject I fear the most, very enjoyable. Do your homework and ask questions. Sacrificing your Saturdays to attend his class is well worth it.

Awsome teacher. Gives you all the tools you need. Do the homework and attend his lectures, you will definetely do well on the tests. His grading is very fair. Worth sacrificing my Saturdays!! Brings humour & entertainment to the class.

Has a little bit of a heavy accent, and is hard to understand, but he knows his stuff, and tries to keep the class alive. The class isn't boring, and he's willing to help you.
