Comment:
Dr. Tallant clearly cared about what he was teaching. I took his class online and he had live video lectures on most class days. He covered most of the material from the book, so that felt more supplemental than essential to understanding the course. Be prepared to take notes, though! I ended up with over 60 typed pages.

LOVE professor Tallant. He is passionate about what he is teaching and it shows. He is extremely kind and treats his students like adults. If you are responsible and keep up with your readings his classes will be a breeze. This class is all lecturing but it is enjoyable because he is so well spoken and a good story teller.

His voice is kind and gentle, and he is very intelligent and extremely organized with grades. It can be a bit boring, I would recommend taking his class M W F just because it can get tiresome. Otherwise he is great!

Don't take this class if you're only interested in gen ed credit. But, for anyone with a slight interest in history, Tallant's lectures are like watching A&E or the history channel. His depth of knowledge is amazing. He can answer any question with solid information. Best lecturer here.

The notes are nothing new for a college class, expect to write, but expect all the answers to the tests to be given to you. He even gives you quiz and test "hint sheets" that point out days, topics, and sections of the book that will help you. Great guy, too.

Historians are not lazy people. So, if you're a lazy person and are expecting an easy class from this proffessor, don't bother. tallant is extremely knowledgeable, and if you want to learn something, you'll take him. He comes with highest recommendations from this student.

VERY HARD! You take notes everyday, all class. He makes his tests straight from his notes, so you write, write and write some more. Stay away from him at all costs!
