Comment:

Dr. Frye really cares about his students and will help in any way he can. Hes very understanding and sends out reminders daily. His work load isnt very heavy and grades based on how much time you took to understand the material. A really nice man!

Comment:

10/10 wouldnt recommend. Dr. Frye gives a 101 class the work of a 300 level course. He gave us 25 minutes to complete 15 questions Test when we went online that were nothing like his power points. Really strict on being exact in his assignments and has no flexibility. Many are irrelevant. His way or the highway. Very snarky to communicate with.

Terrible. When classes went online instead of an hour and a half like we would have in class he gave us 25 minutes. Makes it very complicated to finish an exam. Some people need longer to think about their answers. Would never take this professor again. Heard he was a good teacher until he heard his class was easy. He made sure it wasnt.

Comment:

Only perk of his class was that he gave extra credit. There was more work for his class than any of my other classes combined (I am taking 16 credit hours this semester). Most of his power points are 80 slides long and there are usually at least 2 or 3, plus videos.A LOT is expected to know for his tests and there are only usually 15ish questions.

Will not be lenient on absences even if you have an emergency. DO NOT take his class. You will hate your life. His final exam or tests are not anything he says they are on. He also makes you do really weird projects that you will have to spend money on, take the other professor.

Fryes Art 101 is easy as long as you look over the PowerPoints he provides you on blackboard and in class. His test do include things from reading chapters in the book so it IS required. He is kinda boring sometimes but other than lecturingeasy A.

He's an interesting guy. Clear that he knows the material well but sometimes he'll go off on a tangent. Really all he asks for is insight from students, he loves when you give your thoughts on the subject. Pay attention, take notes, participate, and you'll do fine.

He was okay. Movies with quizzes. Kinda does what he wants rather than follow the syllabus. Don't put your head down or you're out of the classroom. He's boring but reasonable

Dr. Frye is a very nice guy, however, he seems to confuse himself sometimes, and doesn't present the material in a clear, concrete way. His class seems really difficult for an introductory art course.

Dr. Frye is not one of my favorite professors. He is kind of boring and doesn't really present the material in an interesting way. I was in a large class and he had no control over the classroom. Attendance is mandatory and he asks questions on the tests about stuff not covered in class. Very unorganized and not for me.

When it comes to the class I never thought it was as bad as people claimed. Yes, you had to read, but most of the test questions were obvious points in the chapter. You can tell Dr. Frye loves art and is a nice guy. You have to work for your A. The role gets passed around in odd ways sometimes. Make sure that if it passes you, you remember to sign.

I do not recommend him. His tests are way harder than need be. Some of the information that would be on the tests would be that small detail in the book. For the open ended questions, he doesn't have an open mind about it and marks it wrong if you don't word it the right way. Sometimes it's like he doesn't know all the information himself.

I recommend that you do not, i repeat DO NOT take Frye for an art teacher. His class is very pointless, and test are very hard. He expects way too much for an art 101 class. He often seems like he does not know the information his self. Worst class at FMU. DO NOT TAKE FRYE.

I really don't recommend him. His class was very boring. He acts like his class is important when it's only an elective. The test are very difficult. If you don't read the chapters he assigns you will miss questions on the test. However he is happy to help you with assignments outside of class. That's one good thing about him.

He was Great! We had only 4 students in our class, and he was very helpful to each of us. He's very scatter brained and a little disorganized, but if you send him an e-mail about something he is fast with responses! I learned a lot about lesson plans from him.
