He's funny and his class is easy. Tests are easy as long as you pay attention to them. He makes his tests very straight to the point and clear. Do your best and he will take that into consideration.

Prof. Garland is a unique character. He is very funny and knowledgable but I don't think he is a great professor. If you don't already understand basic statistics I wouldn't recommend him. However, if you take him, make sure to ask many questions because he will try his best to help you understand.

Prof. Garland was the funniest professor yet I have encountered in college life. Hes disorganized, lazy, and always late-to-class type of person. But overall, he is genius when it comes to teaching statistics. His life stories are funny and relatable to statistics. Best math professor ever! Id totally recommend him.

Overall, hes a decent professor. He kind of came off as disorganized or lazy. However, he knows what hes doing, and he welcomes any question you have. He caters to each student if they need extra help. He also made class more fun with his stories.

Made math extremely difficult. Very disorganized, assigned lots of HW, and was not clear about what material was on the tests. Spent most of the semester trying to keep up with homework. Did not grade homework until final exam, so I had no idea what my grade was until official grade was posted. Terrible experience.

Take this Professor only if you want to transfer to a very good University. I never done more than a thousand question in a semester. Take him only if you have to study math in a long run.

Pros: funny, nice, and entertaining person. Will help if you ask for it. Cons: unorganized, forgetful, a little lazy when it comes to the basics (syllabus, study guide, grading). expect to put in hard work and all your time. Not recommended for those who are bad at Math or have work/school full time.

I've had professor Garland twice for two different Math classes and I find him to be a really good professor. He does assign a ton of homework and never cancel's class but he his a very good math teacher. If he were teaching me the next math class I needed I would be taking him again, make sure to ask lots of questions and participate in class.

Cool guy but let's homework accumulate too much for him to grade, so you don't even know your grade in the class until basically the end of the semester.

Garland was a great math teacher! If you look confused he calls you out on it and asked what you don't get,but in a funny way. On that note, he is really hilarious! He does give alot of homework, but collected it twice out of the whole semester. He also gives back quizzes for you to fix the problems you got wrong and subtracts just one point each.

Professor was very helpful. I am terrible at Math and he taught it well enough for me to understand and get a good enough grade. I did most of the homework, got good test grades and got an A- in the class. He is also kinda funny too which helps take some of the boring out of Math.

Awesome teacher!Very funny during his lectures. Did assign a lot of hw but it helped you study for tests which weren't too hard. He helped students who had extra questions. Just come to class and you will be fine.

A decent professor, but assigns too much homework for the average student to keep up with. Someone who takes three other classes and works 30+ hours a week simply does not have the time to do 150+ math problems every other day

Mr. Garland is an excellent instructor. He teaches you the fundamentals of statistics and how they relate to different statistical analysis in the course. He cares about students learning and is willing to help with any questions as long as you try on your own first. HW is a lot, but prepares you for any questions on exam. I got an A. Great teacher

He was not a very good teacher overall. He would assign multiple sections of homework per class meeting, with each section consisting of 30 or more problems. This could on be completed if this was your only class. If you are taking a full schedule and actually have a life, I would suggest you take another teacher.

His lectures were entertaining, but when they were actually about the subject it was confusing. He did not follow the book, so it was hard to study after class or in the math center. you can turn in homework a week late, and he usually assigns only the odd problems, so the answers are in the back. if math is your major - do not take this class.

He was not very helpful. Never gave us the grades before taking final. Lectures did not tie in with the lesson.
