Comment:

Mr. Johnston was such an amazing teacher, I took his class during Fall. He's hilarious and wants to make sure you pass his class. His class is not at all difficult, all the answers are in the lectures he provides. You have 4 quizzes total and a final exam. He has you turn in worksheets every two weeks, write them in blue! He provides extra credit!

Comment:

I toke him for a night class because all other esc teachers were booked, and kinda hard. He is legit hilarious, and provides study guides and lots of exc opportunities. I passed the exams with a C-C+ but quizzes I've gotten A's in and I've done EXC so my grade is an A. Honestly take him, especially if you are doing other hard classes. Cool guy

Comment:

The best professor I've ever taken in college period. He's so awesome, at first he looked kinda scary. However, that turned 180 so quickly since he's funny and laid back. There is no need to buy a textbook which is even more awesome. 4 exams are very straightforward as long as you study the guide and the ppt. some quizzes are take home. He's cool!

Lectures are looooong. But, he makes them interesting. He really cares about his students and provides alot of extra credit. He is quick at replying to emails. TEXTBOOK IS NOT REQUIRED, since we use his notes to study for tests and quizzes. Make sure you go to class (even though attendance is not mandatory), since he tells you whats on the test.

Comment:

Professor Johnston was a blast. He gives extensive lectures, and is very passionate about his class and the subject matter. IF you came to the lectures you will better understand his slides, he does not require a book (thank you). His quizzes and tests are comprehensive and at the same time sprinkled with easy, fun questions you learn from class.

Johnston cares about Earth Science, and it shows. The lectures cover a lot of ground, so pay attention and take notes! He's funny, and he's a good guy to work with. I'd definitely take him again.

The class was practically unbearable for me. He talks extremely fast and there was an overload of information to learn in sometimes a day before a test/quiz. He is very funny and passionate about the subject he teaches, but if you cannot pay attention for long periods of time, don't do it! Not much help when the class is full. Good luck!

Great teacher, very funny. He provides powerpoints instead of using a book. You can miss as many classes as you want but I found that being in class and listening to his lectures helped me with tests. There is no homework. Quizzes and tests are hard but if you pay attention and study his test reviews you can easily pass with an A.

I get all A's, but this class killed me. He gives these long powerpoints which don't go in depth at all when you read them, no homework which sucks because his tests are HARD, his study guides are unorganized and half the time have nothing to do with what's even on the test. Worst teacher I've had. He's funny though, so that's nice I guess....

Johnston is hilarious. Earth Science can be insanely boring, but he has jokes on himself that are hilarious. He can talk pretty fast and its easy to get lost, but he has everything you need posted on eRes. His study guides are awesome, they aren't questions, they literally tell you what you need to know. Also has some hilarious answers on tests.

No HW. Only quizzes and tests. His lectures go SO in depth that it might distract from what is actually important. BUT. Chill class, low stress. I dont know if it would be better to always attend class or not to... I did attend and I got an A. Johnston is funny. :)

A lot of material is covered, so attendance is a must. class is definitely what you make of it, if you keep up with the lectures, study, and keep solid notes, you will not have a problem getting an A. If you like to slack off or take s days off this class is not for you. Professor is really good about clarifying things upon request. Nice guy!

the material is not as easy as you would think it is. with that being said professor JOHN-STONE made earth science very easy to understand, he would go off on tangents during lecture so much i stopped taking notes half way through the semester and would just follow the study guides for the exams, i passed with an A! highly recommend him! easy class

Professor Johnston makes it almost impossible to fail. He offers lots of extra credit, plus if you are someone who rarely misses, there are times you will get extra credit just for coming. That being said, the material is not as easy as you would think. However, he gives out study guides for everything. It would be very hard to fail this class.

Cool older professor, don't buy the book-waist of time, he posts power points on eres, print those out and take to class makes it really easy to follow along. He gives out study guides, and what is on that is exactly what is on the tests/ quizes. Gives out a lot of extra credit and its easy. Over all really glad I took this class

Mr. Johnston is pretty cool. He posts power points for lecture and study guides online. I was very uninterested in this subject but he did make it interesting and easy to understand. No homework and no need for book. The tutor Tana is very helpful to review for quizzes and tests. I currently have an A, thanks to tutoring.

Awesomely awesome guy. Don't know what the two bad ratings are complaining about, but I'm wagering they failed the course and just want to moan about it. Very easy class.
