Comment:

Mr. Kelly is one of the best professors I've EVER had. He includes himself as "student" and is genuinely excited to see what you (the student) have to teach. There are no tests whatsoever. He doesn't ask much at all for the class, a few discussion posts and a project of your choice. He intertwines all of the discussions which keeps it interesting!

Comment:

Mr. Kelly is one of my favorite professors I have ever had. You would think that since there are no tests in his class that you wouldnt learn anything but thats not the case at all. I learn more in his classes than in a lot of classes that have tests. He tries to relate everything he teaches to his students real lives. He is a great person!

Mr. Kelly is such a sweet person and is very passionate about what he does. Has no tests and makes the whole class about connecting history to now. If you do the 2 assignments a week he gives and come to class you will make an A. He prides himself on having an easy class because his focus is on learning. Kind of boring class but he is great.

Comment:

Professor Kelly is a great teacher for people who don't enjoy the factual recall and memorization of history and dates. Rather than most traditional history courses, he focuses on the analyzation and interpretation of various events and moments in history and allows for you to provide your own reflection. Do the assignments and you will make an A.

Mr. Kelly does not like to grade on the normal scale. His classes are designed for participation and learning through that participation. He gives assignments, weekly written work due across several days and has great interactions with his students. Loves to intertwine students with history.

His class was super easy, and he's a great guy. I personally just didn't like the method of teaching and how we learned the information. Just do your work and you'll pass, he's an easy grader.

I loved Prof. Kelly. He is well informed about history and has a real desire to help his students learn the subject matter as well. He was always quick to respond to emails and help you, or just have a conversation with you to try to get to know you. I highly recommend him. He's a GREAT professor who actually makes you want to come to class.

Comment:

Great professor, always willing to help. Definitely loves the subject matter and also does fun little giveaways throughout the semester. A bit different from other professors in that he uses the pull (student led) method over the push (teacher led). But I think that while skeptical at first, he proved this method to be very viable.

Comment:

As a hard sciences major, I have little to no interest in anything humanities oriented. So I worried that Mr. Kelly and I would clash a bit. But I was very wrong! He runs his class as a discussion group and encourages all statements, even if it's "I hate this *painting, poem, etc*". The class ended up being a favorite. Great guy, awesome teacher!

Mr. Kelly is a teacher that thinks & teaches out of the box. He doesn't require a book. I really enjoyed his class. He says he don't count off for attendance, but he gives you assignments that you can only turn in if you're in class. You do HAVE to be in class, everyday. He makes it interesting & I liked the class overall.

Mr. Kelly is an amazing teacher! Very nice and very helpful. No tests. Focuses on why things are important to us today. Gives blogs to respond to. Every other week you write about a half page on what you learned within those 2 weeks. Learned more in his classes than any other!
