Joseph is an incredibly funny guy, and definitely fast paced. But don't let that make you doubtful, as long as you PAY ATTENTION and TAKE NOTES, you'll pass the class with at least a B. He does not teach anything that he doesn't go over in his lectures.

This professor is the chair division of biology department but he actually doesnt do his job as a chair division if a student have a complain then there is no other person to go beside him he doesnt respond to his emails and phone calls or even voice mails he just ignores the issue and doesnt support the students so good luck if have an issue.

One of the best professor's on the GCC campus. He is a true professional and knows his stuff. It's a very easy class if you put the work in, if you don't then your in trouble it's simple as that. Professor Beeman is a legend and teaches in way that it easy to understand and you can't forget about his personal life stories their too legendary.

Honestly, i studied day and night for this class. Wrote down every word he said. But his tests are freaking hard and its not only from what he teaches u but he also asks u lots of tricky questions which would be fine if u had enough time. some students didnt even have time to finish the test. 1 essay question includes more than 6 questions in it

I took this class during the winter session, and it is not for the weak. Professor Beeman, however, does an amazing job at explaining very difficult concepts until you understand them. He is hilarious and extremely smart. Very interesting class, but a lot of information that builds on top of itself, so you can't get lost.

An extremely knowledgable professor who instantly became one of my favorites. To those saying he's too hard, good luck in your studies! If you cant handle his kind of lectures/tests, you won't be able to succeed. I studied EVERY single day after lecture and got an A. I definitely worked for it, but it's doable! Set time aside, review, & ask ?'s!

Professor Beeman is the hardest professor I've ever had at GCC. Physiology is hard enough without him teaching you all this extra medical stuff that you shouldnt have to learn for an entry bio class. His tests are extremely hard and you wont finish most of them because they're just that long and he talks way too fast. His class will ruin your GPA!!

Joe Beeman is a great inspiraton because I have always felt the sign of a great teacher is someone who inspires you to go learn on your own. J. Beeman has certainly done that with me. Tough lecturer, tough tests, but always accesible. I took Bio 115 and re-took Bio 121 with him and even though I got 'C's both times, I received wisdom (invaluable).

i took professor Beemans Bio 115 class during the short winter session. Overall i think he is a great professor. Although he is lecture heavy, he makes his lectures very interesting, and his humor helps wake you up. I recommend recording his lectures and re-listening to fix your notes. Tests are easy as long as you study and make time for it.

Joe Beeman is so far the best professor I've had at GCC. I took him in the winter session and it was great! He makes his lectures fun and interesting. There will be written questions on the test, but it's doable because he tells you everything that's gonna be on it. Also record his lectures, it'll help a lot!

Beeman was a great professor, somebody taking his class 100% has to record his lectures and listen to them at home. I studied the note packet religiously and that will help with multiple choice. Listening to his lectures is what will help you with the written portion. I only worked weekends in order to study for just this class. Definitely no joke.

Beeman is very passionate about what he teaches. There is nothing wrong with him as a person, but he just needs to lighten up as a professor and be more understanding that bio 115 is an intro course not medical school. He also grades tests way too hard and he loves having long written portions on them with fill in the blanks & "short" responses.

Class was difficult - but if you put in the time, you will do well. Set aside a week before each exam and relisten to each lecture, making sure you fully understand the topics covered. Go to his office hours in the learning center, the time spent there will prepare you well for the long-response questions on the exam!

He explains very well the material, but his tests are extremely hard and almost no one could even finish them. So don't recommend him. It's not a medical school, he makes this class artificially difficult.

I had previously taken him for Bio115 and did AMAZING. I figured I would take again for Physio.. wrong. He expects us to understand ideas far above entry level material. THIS IS NOT A MAJORS CLASS! The average grade was a 66% on the first test and a 60% on the second. He gives incredibly hard exams and looks for the strangest answers. Had to drop.
