I just found this rating site, and had to submit my thoughts from my many classes taught by Professor Rybacki. Although the years have passed since I graduated from NMU, my recollections of Ms. Rybacki's pedagogy have followed me throughout my career. She was tough, but fa!ir; and, she insisted that we challenge ourselves through research. Bravo

I thought I loved this class until I did my first 25 page paper and got a -2 for my grade. Nothing in assignments and exams have to do with book, discussions, paper and she is awesome in class, you think you got it, nope. Go talk to her, she acts out of class like you are a total moron. Time spent here would have been better spent in another class.

People may think Karyn is a bad teacher, but she's not. She makes you work for it which in turn helps you learn. I've learned so much in her classes and I will apply that to my career. She is EXTREmely helpful if you ask her questions after class. She puts anything you don't get in simple words; she's a genius so take advantage!

This was quite a difficult class, here are 4 things that from my experience has helped pass her class. 1) Use examples off of the reserve. 2) Karyn is a GRAMMAR NUT, so make sure you take everything into the writing center. 3) DONT SLACK OFF, there is a LOT OF WORK in this class. 4)Dont expect to do well on her essays on the exams. GOOD LUCK

Karyn is the worst prof I had in college. If you are smart you will change your major NOW! She teaches nothing but non-sense and when you get out of college you will realize she didn't teach anything with concrete value. If you study for the tests and do EVERYTHING from her book and notes then you should get a good grade, but you won't learn much

I've had Karyn for 4 classes and I'll say this much, if you pay attention, work hard, show up regularly and turn in good work, you'll get along well in her classes. (which if its your major, you should be anyway) If you don't, get ready to do poorly. I'm guessing the negative reviews are people that didn't. I pulled A's in all her classes though. i

Karyn is very tough and demanding, but she is also very helpful and always there after class. She has a dry, sarcastic sense of humor and speaks her mind. She also believes you learn from experience, which some people might think is being really vague. I really enjoy her classes though and if you work hard, you'll get an A.

Karyn is without a doubt the worst professor I have had. She doesn't explain what she expects from you. She expects you to just "guess" what she wants. Class is just listening to her talk about NASCAR and Disney world. I certainly expected more from my education at NMU. I feel taken advantage of after my ESPR courses.

She is honestly the worst professor I have ever had. She doesn't teach you anything. All she does is hand out hundreds of guide sheets and lets you guess on what you should be doing. Avoid this prof at all costs. If I knew she was this bad i would've considered another major. From a teaching standpoint, she is monotone and extremely boring!

Karyn is great! She's a toughie and demands a lot, especially on papers but she really offers a lot of help and goes out of her way to help you. You'll learn a lot. She's very fair as long as you stay on her good side by showing up and participating. Just talks about Nascar a little too much sometimes.

I think she is a great teacher. she is tough on grading but i think she has made me a better writer. she is a stickler for grammar and punctuation-look out. she is extremely helpful and understanding. i had her for almost every major class and i will miss not having her.

I absolutely love this class. The class discussions are usually interesting, though there is a tendency to occassionally go nowhere quickly. It is my favorite class this semester.
