I am a bio anthro major and this was one of the worst classes I have ever taken. It almost made me want to change my major. She has no idea how to organize a lecture or make it coherent, and the notes she posted online were useless. The book will save your life.

I am an anthro major and was very disappointed. she goes really into depth about primates despite it being HUMAN origins class. Never went to class just kept up with the reading and posted lecture slides and got an A. final was easy and midterms had tricky detailed questions.

Nicest teacher I have ever had! She is incredibly sweet and will help you out with anything. Her little jokes fall flat with most of the bored class, but if you pay attention the class is fun and you'll definitely get an a. As for the accent, doesn't get in the way at all.

Class is challenging but very interesting. Miss as few classes as possible; her lectures are clear and slides are helpful and she shows a lot of relevant movie clips. Tests are detailed and hard but not confusing or misleading. Extra credit writing assignment helps a lot. Definitely recommend this prof but don't expect a free ride.

Clear lectures, fair exams, awesome T.A.'s. I liked how she incorporated her own research (which is fascinating)into the course material. Lectures were intriguing. Studying is a must, but the material is not hard to grasp.

She talks very fast and the tests can be a bit tricky (you really need to read the question and write a lot for short response) but other than that, the course is pretty clear. Review session helped a lot for the final.

Goes through the notes very quickly. Read the corresponding chapter before class. Go to section! At first it's hard to understand her accent.

Besides the fact that she is hard to understand because of her accent, she is no helpful at all. Don't even go to her office hours.

pretty simple class. take good notes from the powerpoint slides and you will do fine. go to the review sessions the TA's have because they tell you what to know for the tests, which are actually pretty easy. do the extra credit writing assignment and you will do fine in this class.

exams are tedious, depending on which TA you get, there is a possibly that the free response are graded extremely hard with little or no leeway for partial. very specific with different kinds of hominids. be prepared to know characteristics of around 16 hominids per exam. i had to drop with a "W".

i liked her. her greek accent was really cool, i think i had a crush on her because of it. the tests are fair and she emphasises what's on the test in her power points. the microphone screeched every 10 minutes. go to discussion, it really helps, plus i have the coolest t.a. ever, his name is alex.

Best TAs in the world. Make sure you take time to get to know them and go to office hours. The teacher is ok, but the TAs are the ones who make the grades and write the exams. The exans were not that difficult, as long as you know all of the key points for the section. Book is not helpful, take good notes.

Her accent is understandable. If you go to lectures and do the reading the tests are easy, except the short answer questions are graded hard. I thought the class was interesting, which makes it easier. You probably have to be intested in physical anthro to like this class.

Tests aren't that hard, come on people. Extra credit super easy and beneficial. She is very nice but her lectures aren't as fancy as others. I hate the girl who always asked her to go back to the previous slide. I saw her after class once and she cut in front of me in line.

Her exams are EXTREMELY difficult and her power points are unstructured and broad. She does not curve her exams and can be quite temperamental. Though, I must say her Dutch charm is quite satisfying...for me anyway. *wink*

I had the impression of this class being straight forward and easy. The first test I felt to be easy while the second was extremely hard.. These tests are all about memorizing everything! Every specific detail in fact...even about who wrote what essay from the essay readings...just know your stuff!
