Comment:
Keith was a great prof for an Ecology course. I have no experience in ecology and I definitely had to work hard for my grade but I learned a lot from his course. Go to his classes, keep up on the readings and you'll do well. Even if you don't get an A, you'll walk away knowing a lot more than you knew before.

Had Dr. Lewis for two courses and they were both fantastic. Always makes time for his students, and gives great feedback on papers/projects to help you succeed. Could use more info on his lecture slides, textbook should be used to fill in gaps, and take your own jot-notes during lectures. Would definitely take another course with him.

Took Community and Ecosystem Ecology as an exchange student from Europe. The best class I took that semester! Good lectures but you won't pass if you don't get the textbook and study hard. Group discussions and written summary around a scientific article every week. Two labs on the statistical software R. Midterm 25%, Finals 40%

His slide shows are terrible and he totally misses that point in his lectures. Tests are all over the place with emphasis on stuff that isn't important. Very nice guy, just can't explain anything.

Comment:
Some courses are very material heavy, like bio 1001. There is a lot of material to cover, and Keith tried his best to help his students do well. He hasn't taught Bio in several years and some biology has changes since then which kind of puts him behind. Some people blame the prof when it is just the course itself! Loved Keith, he was very helpful!

Keith is a nice guy, and is extremely personable. However, his slideshows are extremely lacklustre, reads straight from his notes, and doesn't seem to have a clue what he's talking about most of the time. You're better off just reading the textbook and looking at the notes just to check the reading list. Nice guy, but I wouldn't take him again

Would not recommend for first year students with no bio background! His notes are very confusing and make things much more complicated then what they need to be. He doesn't use a mic and is hard to hear during lectures and his tests are brutal. Very passionate, nice and caring guy, but I found he made the course more difficult then need be.

Very caring prof, but unfortunately, does not have very good notes. He tries his best to explain what he can, but the book does a much better job. Lectures were also dry and really hard to pay attention because he talks somewhat monotone.

Dr. Lewis is definelty a rare prof to come by because he is one of the few that actually cares about his students and how they do. He will make himself available to you at your convenience and will not let you leave his office until you understand. Tests covered literally everything, and he did get confused with his own notes every now and then.

Very nice, good, caring prof. His lectures/ slides are not the best and sometimes not very useful to go to class it seems. However he does post the slide ahead of time, and also some of the lectures are good for sure. Mostly he got better over time and does care and want to make a good class just needs more practice. Over all ok but a bit hard!

Just reads slides off his D2L so no benefit in going to lectures. Tests don't really match the criteria of the course as the questions tend to be pretty far down in the weeds(ie why is he asking this). He cares, but hasn't taught since I was in elementary school so he's not the greatest at explaining topics or clarifying points.

Do not recommended him for first year students with little to no bio background. Makes the topics a lot harder then they need to be, and goes off on tangents about unnecessary information, that doesn't connection with the topic at all. Probably a good prof for people who have more of a background in bio.

Keith Lewis was the first prof I've ever seen come to a lab on a weekly basis to help us out and interact with us students. That showed me a lot about him. His teaching was very clear and he was up-front about what he expected from his students. Tests were all fair. Very approachable and friendly. Would love to have him again.

I LOVED THIS PROF. Great clarity and throuogh explanations of concepts in lectures, he attempts to be funny by cracking cute jokes which is entertaining. Most imp., he is very helpful and is willing to go above & beyond when it comes to bringing up your grade. Highly reccommended, passionate and dedicated. Plus, I thought he was hot !! :)

He's not meant to teach anything in high school let alone a university course. He has his notes online and reads them directly off the computer during class so there's not really any point to attend lectures. the notes he does seldomly give on the board are useless scribbles. do not take him as a prof

Keith is a good guy I just dont think he was meant to teach Stats, He was a good prof for animal behavior without Beth but he's not good for a Stats course. He is approachable but I dont really see the point, not very helpful at all.

A pretty good course but the most problems I ever had with a distance course. But I'm sure what happened this semister won't happen again. He's not a hard grader...definitely the easiest bio course I've ever done at MUN!
