Comment:

Always late, gets mad if students are late. Papers graded as "complete", doesn't give good feedback on how to improve grade, gets upset when asked questions or when you ask him to repeat an answer you didn't hear (slurs his speech). Drumming itself is fun & you learn an entire song by the end. If you're self-motivated, YouTube is a better teacher.

Comment:

Starts class 10-15 mins late every time. He does not speak very loud. Grades you based on things NOT on the syllabus and the syllabus contains things that you are supposed to be graded on but AREN'T. We begged him to clarify the time of the final and he refused. Only for us to show up at 12:40 like the schedule says and him not being there.

BEST class ever! Khalid is an awesome teacher and offers extra help. He's very friendly & likes to joke around. Don't purchase textbook. Have to attend 4 dance shows & write 1-2 page paper on 2 shows. WAY easy & worthwhile! Great gpa booster. Plus you'll inherent a like for drumming as a whole.

Good professor. Class can be a little boring after doing the same song. He can become moody on some days; but mostly he's a great guy. Don't buy the book-you won't use it. You have to get the cds that he made-& you won't use it (waste of $20). You have to attend concerts as well. There is a lot of investments in this course over $50 investment.

Khalid is awesome, a good person. He will go out of his way to help you. I've been in college 5 years now, on two different campuses and this class is by far my favorite. You'd be hard pressed to find a more easy going, clear speaking professor with a sense of humor.

The class was fun the first week, then everyone in the class dreaded going to it..Khalid is a cool guy but the drumming is too repetitive. Its an easy class and if your looking for an easy A or B then you should take it,it takes alot of patience and att. is taken.

EASY! I figured I'd be getting a C at best for how much effort I put into the class, plus the fact that I sucked! He gave me an A. Real cool, laid back teacher, He's cooler than most teachers you'll meet at Brockport.

This class was great, anyone who is complaining about the fact that you went to class and banged on a drum..I am not sure why you took the class (it is titled African DRUMMING). Khalid was enthusiastic, kind and helpful as well as informative about the cultures the rhythms were coming from. Awesome!

Weird Guy. Didn't do much in the course. It's more a waste of life than anything else. You will pass if you take the course. Probably the least civiilzed course at Brockport. Spend 3 hours a week banging on a drum with your hands.

Some people will whine about anything. In this class you play drums, write 2 papers and go to some dances. If that is too difficult do not take the class. This is the best class if want to take it, the only problem is all the ppl that whine about it.
