Lowell will make you work for a good grade, but that is only because he cares so much about what is teaching about and the students in his class. He is very accessible if you have any issues and will help you if you need it. Very lecture heavy and you will need to study. 3 exams and very little else to cushion your grade. Just study and go to class

Lowell was honestly the best professor Ive ever had and I enjoyed his class so much. Not only is he super laid back and cool but his lectures, while dense, are super interesting! I loved his social psych class!

if you take notes, you'll be fine! You MUST know the studies mentioned in the notes for class. If you don't, you will fail all the tests.

I loved Dr. Gaertner's class. He is funny, chill, and presents the information in a way that is super easy to understand. Personally, I didnt mind there only being the 3 grades, all exams, because it is clear cut what to expect on them and thus be prepared. Definitely know the studies. Class notes were biggest help to study but its all google-able.

Honestly one of my favorite professors in terms of personality. He is very likable and makes his lectures entertaining. The only grades for the class were three tests and occasional attendance credit opportunities. Also does not use lecture slides but has a lay out of his notes on the screen that shows you what topics he will be covering.

If you take diligent notes and show up to class you will do fine when studying for the exams. He is very heavy on testing over the studies that are included in the notes. Quizzes are really easy as long as you show up and listen in lecture. One of the best professors I have had.

Honestly if you are not a good note taker DO NOT take this class. This class is ONLY composed of 3 exams with NO powerpoints. So if you plan on skipping some lectures good luck! (attendance is not mandatory). On the good note he does offer extra credit quizzes almost after each lecture.

Dr. Gaertner is the man. He gives you the notes online before class, and all you have to do is shows up, listen, and follow along. The course material is interesting so it's easy. The only grades are 3 tests which sounds scary, but if you go to class, pay attention, and study, you'll be fine. He offers some extra credit too.

Lowell is a great teacher, but his grading criteria kind of sucks. It's three 25 question exams and that is it. The material is relatively easy if you pay attention and go to every single class, but if you bomb one exam you're done for.

I enjoy his class but the way he has it set up is awful. There are only 3 grades for the whole entire class. Two tests and a final. He said the tests were going to be 50 questions but they ended up being 24 and 32 questions. Incredibly funny and makes jokes but doesn't explain material fully.

Dr. Gaertner's an awesome guy, very laid back, but his class is deceivingly difficult. There's only 3 grades (all tests) so there's not a lot of room for error. And even though he doesn't take attendance, the bulk of the test material comes from his lectures so you probably won't do well unless you come to class regularly and take good notes.

An overall funny teacher and loves to help whenever you need it. The only thing is you have 3 grades in that class, all being tests. You had better make sure you take good notes because he does not use the book at all. I never used the book and would recommend that you don't even buy it. Take good notes and you will be fine.

Not hard. He is pretty funny and doesn't care if you attend class or not. No tests/quizzes. I didn't really get much out of this class, but that could have been partly my fault as well.

He makes the class very interesting. There were 3 tests total and no comprehensive final. As long as you pay attention in class, and spend a few minutes reviewing notes you should do fine.

I loved having him as a teacher. He really explained everything well, and if he happened not to, he will gladly restate it if you ask. There's only 3 tests but if you go to the lectures and take notes you'll be fine because it's all multiple choice, no essay. He's super funny and not bad to look at either.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS MAN! There are only 3 grades for the entire semester and they are all 3 exams. The exams only have about 20-25 questions each so it's very easy to screw up quickly. No extra credit. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL.

Very clear and fair. If you go to class, keep up, and take notes his tests are simple. It's not really easy but be willing to put forth some effort and it'll get you an A. He isn't tricky on the tests. If you know the material he hands you the answers. He gets through his outline then lets you go; doesn't keep you in class late. Great teacher.

If you enjoy teaching yourself all of the material from a book that he does not even follow, then this class is for you. Terrible experience all around. I wouldn't even tell people I dislike to take this class.

Dr. Gaertner is a good teacher, but his grading system is not benevolent to any mistakes (only three exams; no assignments or curve). An A is attainable, but difficult, especially if you aren't familiar with Stats. He also does not teach SPSS. Otherwise, his lectures are straightforward. Attend class, read the book and work on practice problems.

Comment:
While he is a fair teacher, three exams (our only grades for the whole semester) were not an accurate representation of the material learned. I had not taken stats before, and I had to teach myself a good bit of the material. So I do not recommend this teacher if you are unfamiliar with statistics.
