Manouchehr gave me one of the best experiences I have had with an online class. The class is not incredibly difficult, all i had to do was read multiple papers a week then blog about some of the questions he proposed, then add all of them up for a project at the end of the quarter, I would highly recomend him.

I took this class online. The teacher is a nice man, but wasn't really active with students and could take up to several days before replying to an email. He also insists on students grading themselves. I don't recall ever being officially graded on my written work. No textbook; the material is instead found on his blog. Overall interesting & easy.

I just don't really understand. It's the beginning of the quarter and I'm about ready to drop the class. I don't know if he's a better teacher on campus or not but online he really has no clear expectations. Nothing makes sense to me, especially how he puts his assignments on a blog.

Comment:

Took Religion and Culture online class. He was really helpful and prompt on replies. material might look overwhelming at first, but when you take a couple of quizzes you'll soon realize that its not hard at all. Research paper in the end but he does a good job at making each section due as the course goes along so in the end its just put together.

I took this online. Dr. Shiva was really helpful when students were having a hard time finding resources for their research -- he seemed to really want to show students how to do research rather than penalizing them for not already knowing how. There wasn't tons of interaction but it was all pleasant, thorough, and informative.

It is a good class in subject matter. No textbook but lots of interesting material from different sources all pulled together on class website. I wish we got more feedback from Dr. Shiva. He was the best of all my professors at telling us how to do research. But I never knew if I was barely passing or doing super well.

Class is fairly easy but he is so USELESS that it makes the class impossible. He is incomprehensible, and tests us on random things he never lectured us on. There is no textbook to learn from either. Doesn't have a lesson plan. Getting a good grade because he grades super easily, but didn't learn anything. Was a waste of my time and money.

AVOID ONLINE! This teacher is very unorganized. There were huge mistakes in the syllubus and class structure. Even thou he is flexible/easy with deadlines, I didn't learn much. The class is a waste of time.

I took the online class (Religion and Culture), it was really well-structured and actually kind of fun. Our final project was assigned in small increments throughout the quarter so it wasn't such an arduous task. I really learned a lot! I highly recommend this professor.

Enjoyed this class quite a bit, very discussion and analytically oriented which kept things interesting. Unfortunately there are some students who are obviously there to knock out credits instead of actually participating and being engaged in the material but this is something I experienced in most of my BC classes.

Extremely distant professor. Wouldn't answer students questions/emails in a timely matter(I'm not the only one who complained). No guidelines for assignments, very unsure of what is expected of us. And if you email asking for guidelines, if you get a response at all, it will take at least a week. Also, he is 4 weeks behind in grades, super helpful.
