This lady had no enthusiasm what so ever! Her assignments were vague and she also took her sweet time in marking them too. She reads right off the powerpoint and to be honest it did not look like she knew any of the material herself! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

Assignments really easy, got an A on both of them with barely any work, if you needed help with the assignments there was an online forum where TA's answered questions. Midterm was hard, the average dropped down to a 57%. She can be hard to take in, but I love the subject too much to let this affect me in a bad way.

Mary Ann is not a good teacher. It was very difficult to sit through her class, especially as it was the 3rd lecture for her in the day -- no stamina! -- her low energy was contagious. Not enough about actual disasters in this course. Toughest part of sitting through her lectures was her lack of confidence. On my list of 5 worst profs at York.

I dont even know where to start. Worst class Ive ever taken. Lost my assignment, didnt grade anything until the end, talked down to students, cancelled classes. I was really disappointed that a class on disasters didnt cover any locally possible disasters. Would not recommend her at all.

I hate the assignments for her class. You just don't know if what you're doing is correct. :( Could be more helpful than she is. Not very approachable either and doesn't respond at ALL to emails!!

As this was the first time this course was offered, I'll give her a break! She knew some material well; disaster-related material was skimpy at best. Her lack of confidence was troubling. I need a professor who knows, or at least pretends to know, what they are doing. Thankfully she only presented half the course!

Her lectures were very organized and clear. Her answers were very helpful when students asked questions. Her ability to make the material interesting was no better or worse than any other prof. Overall, I found the course interesting and useful. Good prof.
