She gave me permission to skip a class because I needed to go home one week, then told me I had to withdraw from her class because I had missed a day. She also told me that I didn't dress nice enough for her class. I always wore the best clothes I had, just like every other class. But I was poor. Had an A so far when she forced me to withdraw.

She grades on improvement, which is a wonderful way to grade. She sees if you are taking her critiques to heart and making yourself a better writer. She expects you to be there on time and participating. A wonderful, passionate teacher!

Not helpful in the least. Lectures a ton without teaching anything at all; we had a bunch of terms we were supposed to know but we never actually got them defined. We have an absurd amount of papers due with minimal guidelines and tough grading. Condescending manner of teaching. Expects things to be done the week before they're due.

I really want to be fair about Sunyoger. She challenges you in a good way and if you work with her you will grow. She can, however, have an unprofessional temper and has very unfair class policies. But if you show up on time and are friendly and respectful, you will have a great, but academically vigorous, semester.

Picture "The Nanny" (TV series) as a professor, minus the voice of course. Dr. Sunyoger is one of the best professors/teachers I have ever had. She is so knowledgeable and passionate about teaching, and though demanding, Dr. Sunyoger is fun, intriguing, and simply spectacular. Show up on time and be willing to put in the work. WORTH IT!

Dr. Sunyoger is one classy lady; she always dressed very well and modestly with a penchant for high heels. She is a challenging professor, but if you accept her provocation to do your best then you may find yourself producing work that you may not have previously thought yourself capable of. She's also always available to her students.

A wonderful teacher and woman, but her teaching style was a bit annoying - when students raised their hands, she would start on one end of the classroom and work her way around, often skipping people who had something to say. Overall, a great class that enhances appreciation for literature - and that's coming from an already avid reader.

Ridiculously hard and seems to prefer girls as far as playing favorites goes, but most of the people who complain overly about her simply don't have what it takes to get through the class. Writing papers for her isn't hard once you figure out what she likes to read.

Dr. Sunyoger is amazing! Definately the reason I'm an English major. She is very hard and expects a lot, but gives you credit for your hard work. This is the most rewarding class I have ever taken.
