This is all:Dr. Barber is terrible. Doesnt offer partial credit although u submit yr work for exams, ignored students' accommodations, overall very rude. She tries to be intimidating, but it doesnt work. Impossible to get a hold of, does not care whatsoever. ALEKS is a sadistic workload. Doesnt give enough time for online exams. Run the other way.

Comment:

There has to be a 2nd coming of Jesus for Dr. Barber to respond to any email. the class is completely based on Aleks. The exams are all graded by Aleks and not reviewed by any human and there is no partial credit on exams. The first 2 exams were fair, but the 3rd exam had 15 multiple step questions with only 50 minutes to complete the exam.

I took Dr. Barber for two semesters, and both times she 'forgot to grade my final' and temporarily gave me F's. I emailed her a bunch of times, she was always unreachable, I had to email the director in both cases. If there's another professor you can take please do so, save yourself the trouble. She is careless and will not admit to her mistakes.

Literally the worst professor I have ever had. Doesn't respond to emailed, entered the wrong final grades for our entire class. Makes students take 3 quizzes every week for a lab class. Extremely disorganized and does not care about students or their success

Comment:

Incredibly disorganized. Workload is ridiculous for a ONE CREDIT class. Entered incorrect final grades for almost the entire class. After receiving emails from many students about her mistake she then sent out a group email basically saying you got what you got. Later on she realized she had made a mistake. Extremely frustrating.

Class is not hard at all as long as you put forth effort. Just go to your discussion and ask questions and make sure you know the material. The exams are exactly like the study guides she posts online. Somewhat self taught but lectures do help. She messed up a lot of our grades but THEY WERE ALL FIXED. ALEKS is annoying but still take her. Gives EC

Shes incredibly unorganized. Never emails back and most of the class is self taught. Lectures arent bad but its mandatory and mostly self teaching which isnt hard. Every semester she screws up everyones grades. Very unorganized lab coordinator. Her tests are easy as long as you study and know the material. Just study her study guides she posts

Most unorganized class you will ever take. Barber is not accessible outside of class (seldom does she respond to emails). Best way to do well on exams is practice problems from Canvas and old exams. Don't bother with the book. Seek help from a peer mentor if needed. Gives a fair amount of e.c. Weekly hw takes forever (my average was 8.5 hrs).

when a teacher makes it impossible to earn a good grade in their class from their sheer disorganization, you're better off taking the class outside of wayne. WSU labs are always a mess, but this was insane; we got sent an assignment to be due at midnight at 11:30 pm. Then the next day she said she had the wrong due date. This happened constantly

The worst teacher I've had in my entire life. She should not be allowed to teach this class or any class. Homework takes several hours every week. She is super unorganized and shows no care as to whether or not her students pass her class. I've never been more infuriated with a class before. This is also the lowest grade I've ever received anywhere

Dr. Barber is very disorganized, does not return emails, and shows up late to class. The homework took me 4-12 hours/week to complete. She gives a generous amount of extra credit. How to score well on exams: do the practice exams she posts on Canvas.

as a lab coordinator, ive never met someone so disorganized. constantly giving us wrong due dates, emailing as at 11pm for assignments due at midnight. awful at navigating canvas; listed 5 syllabi for her other classes, but not ours. our webassign assignments mark answers incorrect even when she gives us the data. this lab is an absolute mess

Dr Barber, was okay, personally I wouldn't take her again but thats because of preference. 5 tests + the final so no test will make or break you, plus she drops whatever test has the lowest score. Take a discussion section even if you take 1225, it helps a ton! We did ALEKS in our semester so you definitely had to keep up with that to do well.

Dr. Barber doesn't deserve all the grief she is given. She is very knowledgeable on the subject and if you follow her advice, you WILL succeed. There is a lot of homework, but if used properly, it really helps you understand course material. Offers LOTS of extra credit. She did make some mistakes with grading but made sure to correct them.

Lots of homework and lecture isn't particularly captivating. I found ALEKS to be helpful, but probably not worth my time as far as learning efficiently. Practice exams were very helpful. She was often late to class and office hours. Very interesting lady if you get to talk to her a bit. Extra credit was a big help. You have to work for your grade.

Professor Barber is so disorganized, she is late to every class and exams. she gives unnecessary homework and it does not help you on exams. she does give you a lot of extra credit. This class is difficult, if you want to pass you have to study a different way and do her practice exams. I would not recommend taking her. grading is not fair.
