EW is interesting to say the least. He clearly has a passion for what he teaches, but what he teaches and what is on exams/quizzes have little to no correlation. Textbook readings were more related, but there was not a lot of emphasis from him to read the book throughout the semester. I'm sure he would be better in person and not online.

The videos for this semester got overwhelming at times, but he offered retakes on 2 our of the 3 exams. Nice, genuine guy. Just watch the lectures and take notes and you'll be fine.

Dr. Weiher is easily one of my favorite professors on campus. Always makes his best effort to make lectures entertaining and clearly passionate about what he does, there's never a dull moment in a Weiher lecture. Also one of the most personable people I know. Can be a tad disorganized at times, but aren't we all.

Weiher is the goat. If you want a professor that actually cares how his students are doing in his class, take his course sections. He is a tad spacey but I found myself having a high B without doing any additional reading. He doesn't hold your hand through everything and is less traditional than others teachers, but that's what I loved about him!

Weiher sometimes may seem disorganized, but he really cares about students and is funny in class. Use slides to study and you'll be fine; he curves tests and final grade. He is very kind and outgoing in office hours-great professor.

His exams are really hard to study for and I discovered that after the first exam. I managed to pull my grade back up to something pretty mediocre but his lectures do not help at all. Read the book. Group quizzes are nice, but they're worth a super small amount of points. Grades are just the three 100 pt exams and eight 6 pt quizzes.

I have no idea why his overall rating is so low, he's one of my favorite professors! Probably one of the most reasonable professors there is. If he noticed a question was unreasonably hard on a quiz/exam, he made it extra credit. A few group quizzes, and by group I mean the whole class essentially took it together. Take him!!!

Dr. Weiher is a nut. He is so very passionate about what he does. He makes quirky comments which are funny. you don't really have to attend class if you look at the power point and read the book because he speaks so quiet you cannot really hear him during lecture in a big lecture hall anyways

Weiher is such a great professor. Please take the other reviews with a grain of salt. He really is not bad AT ALL. I actually enjoyed his class a lot. He was always willing to help out in class and outside of class. He did a good job clarifying questions. He loves what he does and that really helped me to love learning.

Although Weiher may be a bit spacey during lecture, and a bit disorganized, he's probably by far my favorite professor on campus. He does videos lectures too which is really nice since you don't have to go to class that day. Exams aren't hard, he makes sure you know what will be on the test. If you just go with the flow in class, you should be good

He is flexible, disorganized, and easygoing. If you want structure and a clear grading criteria, you won't like him. He is humorous and the lectures are pretty interesting. He has a syllabus/schedule, but it changes quite a bit throughout the semester and was even willing to push back a couple of tests by the suggestion of the class.

Terrible would never take him again.. so very unorganized, all over the place, very socially awkward, I have no idea how he became a professor.. went and asked him about the exam, ended up talking about his lunch for 10 mins... I would not recommend him at all. The book doesn't help and his slides suck. I wouldn even give him a 1, no enjoyment

Lectures are very unorganized, and mostly just random pictures. Really funny person though, also super kind. Conveys plant material in a really simplified version which is super nice. Exams are not too difficult if you study.

Don't let these negative reviews sway you. I am not a Biology person whatsoever, but Weiher is not as bad as other people say he is. He taught the plant portion of this class. If you put in some effort it isn't terrible. His lectures are unorganized but you can figure it out. Best of the three professors in this class.

Wow- that was something.... Not the worst three weeks of my life, but certainly in the top five! I think most middle schoolers can produce better powerpoint. S/O to my friends for helping me pass. He gave plants a bad name. Funny guy though!!!!!!

He doesn't use class time well and doesn't explain things well. Tests are way harder than the class work. Take someone else if you can.

He has a hard time staying on schedule or explaining things precisely. It's a pain to take his classes if you don't like inconsistent teaching. I wouldn't take his classes if you have any attention deficit issues or struggle without a professor who has structure and organized thought patterns.

Dr. Weiher is a great guy, very funny and caring. However, his lectures are somewhat wandering and frustrating; the best thing to do is to make your own condensed notes after a lecture to summarize and get everything together to study from that.

Dr. Weiher is an amazing and hilarious guy. Although a bit scatterbrained at times, you can do well in this course. He will probably frustrate and confuse everyone at times, so asking questions is key. He's a great guy, very caring and helpful.
