Weekly discussion boards, 2 questions per board with a 250 word count response to each. 4 test which is given a 3hour timeframe to complete. Each test has 2 open response and 50multiple choice questions. Theres a 24 pg course assignment over documentaries. This class is VERY demanding, and you will not get by slacking!!! Very stressful course

It wasn't an "easy A", but as long as you put in some effort and actually try, you'll get an A. She is very responsive and if you don't understand something, she will talk it through to you. She gives a lot of feedback too.

I took this class online. It kept me busy, but I did not waste any time either. Her assignments are long and test are kind of hard. Make sure you count your words on all assignments or she will count off if you have less than 800. I would recommend her for any class. She is firm but fair.

I really cannot relate to anyone on here who claims that they enjoyed taking this woman online. She's an unfair grader and requires too much for an online class. I'm taking 15 hours, balancing two jobs and it would take me HOURS to finish one assignment from her just to receive an 18/20. Do yourself and your GPA a favor and don't take her online.

This is one of the hardest professors that you will ever encounter. She requires lots of reading and writing. She is a tough grader and you will probably never use this material ever in life. :(

get ready to write 500 words each for two questions weekly that was the only downfall but i see now it help in the long run and now I'm use to writing long papers. plus you have to write a 15 page paper for two prisons at the end.

Dr. Parker is awesome! I had her online but she was always in contact. I have never had a professor just email the class and make sure they were all doing fine and had no questions. Also when I emailed her directly I would have a response that day. Love her class and the fact that she works in the field she is teaching about!nn

Corrections is the perfect course for her to teach. She knows her stuff and will make sure you know your stuff! Very engaging and genuinely cares about her students' success. Online or not, she is quick to respond to any concerns or questions. Great teacher!

She is a wonderful professor, even through online courses. She is very knowledgeable about the material and is very available to her students. She is very helpful on the prison tours and she is a very approachable, friendly professor. You can learn a lot in this class. Especially from the prison tours.

Took her for corrections, best. teacher. ever. She knows everything about her field of study, and is the most helpful teacher I've taken. I learned more in her one class than all of my other classes at UALR. She is so intelligent and delightful to be around. The class itself was easy , if you studied!

Simply amazing. If Dr. Parker could teach every class for CJ major, I would take every one them. She shows interest and want you to succeed. She also know her stuff. There's no guessing or changing during a semester of her expectations. I took her summer 5 wks online. 3 test, 4 discussions per wk and opportunity for extra credit. I just love her.

BEST professor on UALR campus!! She knows her stuff and really keeps class INTERESTING, never a boring class!! There is a mandatory prison tour and a 12-15 page paper from the tour but its EASY!! There are 4 exams all online but are all very easy as well if you read and go to class. Take class on campus or you will miss out on alot!!! Love Dr. P!!!

Comment:

Very interesting class (online). Requires a prison tour and a written paper summarizing the event. There are discussion questions every week. Test questions come primarily from Dr.Parker's notes rather than the textbook. She grades fairly and answers all questions. I recommend taking the course!

Comment:

Great teacher, enjoyed the class. The papers are work but she is very fair in grading them. Recommend taking this instructor, although she is the only one to teach 3300. Easy A or B with minimal effort.

Dr Parker is the BEST instructor in the CJ dept. She is helpful and very nice. She knows her stuff. Don't let the papers bother you, she is very fair in grading and does not care about punctuation.

I loved this class. I took it online and it was really easy. As long as you do the weekly discussions and the prison project you will do good. She was a great teacher and very helpful. I would definitely take her class again.

Great teacher and very helpful. requires wkly disc. Prison tour required in correction. Test are very long and hard with 2 long discussion ques at the end. Worst thing but not too bad the long paper at the end. 5 papers due, 4 papers 3 pages and the 5th paper 5 pages. very fair grading. if you keep up, you will do fine. gives extra credit to help
