Stitt is an excellent prof. The man absolutely loves the material he teaches and you can tell. His Mythology and History of the English Language classes are extremely easy if you put even a little bit of effort into them and they're interesting to boot unless youre a hater of some kind. I highly recommend Dr. Stitt.

I enjoyed professor Stitt's class immensely. For the complainers, I say that if you are looking to be entertained, stay on your couch and watch American Idol. If you can't stay awake, stay in bed. If you want to learn something about anthropology and mythology from an accomplished expert, take professor Stitt's course.

Very nice guy and a very easy class. Exams are all short answer but unbelievably easy. All the notes you'd take in class are online so don't stress if you didn't write something down. Take the class, guaranteed A

Speaks in monotone. Well-versed on the subject. I rarely ever paid attention in class and did none of the assigned readings and ended up with an A-. I spent the whole semester worrying about my grade in vain because he gives far more than the typical class average curve. With my 'out of' points (before the points blitzkrieg) I'd have earned a C.

Such an interesting guy. Sometimes he has a hard time making his point in terms you can regurgitate on a test, but I recorded the reviews and was able to score A's on all exams. Summer session, 1 test each week and he covered all the material before the test. no text, and his website had a lot of glitches, but he was fun to listen to. I recommend

HISTORY OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE: This class was extremely hard for me. I'm sure though if I put a little more effort into it I would have gotten at least a B but I got a C+. Dr. Stitt is pretty great and helpful as can be. I took this during the summer and there were just 5 tests, no textbook, just online notes and exercises.

LOADS of information to remember, most of which I found uninteresting and/or confusing. Ace all the tests and you skip the final; if you suck like I did, the final is your last hope. No papers. All notes/lectures on a buggy website. Finally, he seems like a nice guy and he rocks those red suspenders like no else.

An engaging professor. While I didn't attend as often as I should have, if you do the work, he doesn't care. I ended up doing a 25 page paper as my only work for the course, and got an "A," so I'm pretty happy with it. Granted, this was a few years ago, so he may have changed his standards since then.

Dr. Stitt is a very knowledgeable professor and because he cares about the material, he really puts a lot of effort in explaining things clearly. His mythology course was simply amazing, and I really enjoyed his heroic epic. I hate to say he is an EASY "A." Instead, I'd rather say that he prepares you so you can do well. I never worked harder on a term paper than for his heroic epic course -- because I wanted to, not because I felt I had to impress him.

EASY! easiest A you will get in the English department. Not the most exciting lectures, you can probably skip most of them since he doesn't take attendance. Just read his notes on-line and utilize the study guide for Mythology. For Heroic Epic - don't

Dr. Stitt is awesome. He knows his stuff--he lectures are difficult early in the morning, but besides that, he is very interesting. I enjoyed the class and read some of the greatest stories that I will use in my own college lectures in the future.

Whatever you do, do not ask for help. He is as much help as an ice cube in the Antarctic. Lacks the social skills to communicate with students.

Do not take History of the English Language with anyone else. He makes it so easy to understand, and makes a possibly boring subject very interesting. Great professor, had him for mythology also. Gives study guides and good notes. Highly recommend!!

Took him for History of the English language. Tough subject, but he's very passionate and wants you to 'get it'. As an added bonus, get A's on the first 5 tests and you dont have to take the final!
