Comment:
Dr. Roth is a wonderful lady and one of the best professors at UNLV. Her classes generally have a few written assignments, but she doesn't grade them harshly and really just wants to see that you are thinking about the material. We even briefly learned how to flintknap in this class! If you need an archaeology course, take one with Dr. Roth!

Dr. Roth is truly a remarkable professor. The material is somewhat tough, and she knows that, but she is always willing to answer whatever questions you have. This class is by no means an easy A with two papers and fill-in-the-blank exams, but you will learn SO much! Dr. Roth is a seriously nice person who is an EXPERT in her field. Take her class!

She's a great professor; fun, easy to talk to, & willing to help. There ARE a lot of writing assignments, but she does NOT grade that harshly. Just explain your position well & demonstrate that you're awake in class or read the book & you'll be okay. 3 novels, kind of boring, but not too bad. Reading & participation are key.

THere were a lot of writing assignments. If you don't love writing papers, I would not recommend this class. I was not sure how detailed she wanted our papers but apparently she expects a lot. Her exams were take-home essays which she grades harshly. I rather have a regular in class exam personally. I thought "take-home" meant easier...NOT true!

No, she's not hot. I don't even know why someone said that. She prolly was a cutie 20 years ago, but not so much now, to me at least. Interesting course but the expectations on the assignments aren't clear, so my grade suffered. Making a stone tool from obsidian was SUPER fun though.

She is an awesome professor. Ask her anything and she knows it. As long as you read the chapters, you will be fine. Study for exams as well.

Shes easy and helpful, lectures are easy to follow along. Careful the first homework and midterm she is surprisingly picky, be very detailed. I have extensive study guides for midterm and final that a group of 5 of us came up with email for a copy. Overall easy but tideous class. Go to lectures and you'll be fine and wont have to read.

Roth is awesome, but her lectures are disorganized. Her exams are all short answer/essay and her questions come almost exclusively from her lectures, reading the supplemental material assigned is pretty much a useless waste of time.

Awesome Prof. Tests are VERY difficult but graded fairly and mostly on a curve. Go to class, take lots of notes, and stay awake! She gives out study guides, but I found them useless come test time. Most of the material is in lecture though.

This professor subed for our regular teacher for one class, and I understood her teaching method much better than our regular professor. I should have taken her Ant. 105 class instead. Great teacher!
